Also: This must be the only board in the world where some of the members actually like/play/care about 3DO. :-"
Are you kidding  ? I'm sure lots of other classic gaming boards like 3DO, to mention boards dedicated to 3DO itself! I think it's a pretty neat console myself.

Lucienne's Quest is enough for me to like the 3DO, but yeah there are quite a few good games for it that were released in North America.
Indeed, there are a bunch of fun / intriguing 3DO games.

Also: I have a treat for 3DO fans, but first I have to finish up some other projects. Needless to say, you guys will dig it :) Don't hold your breath, though :). I'm sure Seldane is stoked!

I'm hoping its a long lost port of Nectaris for 3DO.

What about the long lost ports of Rockman X3 & Tomb Raider for 3DO, I'd love to see those, if they exist.  Actually, I know Tomb Raider was being worked on for 3DO, but, have no idea how far they got.

Oh cool, I had no idea Tomb Raider was being made for 3DO. I don't really like the game or anything, but it would've been a nice to see on 3DO graphically.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I always liked the 3DO, it had some cool games like The Horde, Slayer, Guardian War, some great ports of laserdisc games, and some interesting imports.  It wasn't the bees knees or anything, but it's a great system to collect for since most of the games are from the early CD-rom days and can be pretty interesting and unique since developers were just starting to get used to CDs.  Plus it's crazy how many games were made for it, I'm always coming across games that I had no idea existed for the system.

I often like to think of 3DO as the console that's like the early Saturn and Playstation games you would play. While most people would probably think of those early 3D games as crap, they have a special feel to them that attracts me and naturally I feel in love with the 3DO :D . But on a serious side, the 3DO does offer some good quality games.

Apparently a 3DO version was planned at one point, but canceled according to the Japanese Rockman X3 Wiki page.

Thats crazy. At least one magazine had like a full page on it with screenshots.

I'm going to keep an eye out for it next time I'm looking through old mags.

Hmm just the PS1 version no patch for the Saturn one

I still have policenauts for the saturn but i never had the urge to import the PS1 version.

I thought it was not possible to play the, PS1 version on a U.S console unless... you had a modchip in it or a JPN PS1.

Well unless i've herd it wrong  :?:

Yeah you need a mod chip, but you'd need one anyway to play a burned copy of the game with the english patch, same on the Saturn.

You'll need a modchip either way to play a cdr game.

I've finished the Saturn version a few times. Even though its supposed to be the best version, it doesn't matter that it doesn't also get a patch, since I'm only playing the english patched version to fully understand the story.

Just thought I would pass this along.Looks like the same guys who did the policenauts translation are going to start work on snatcher for the pc engine. From what I gather they dumped the script from the sega cd version and  will try to reinsert it in the pc engine version.Don't no about about anybody else,I`ve been waiting and incredible long time to play this game in english.Never had any intrest in playing the sega cd version,as I understand some scenes where taken out or censored.http://forums.junkerhq.net/viewtopic.php?t=1389&sid=1b2f0fd8fcd48c0966e40f999f51bfe4

Awesome. I'm guessing that there's zero chance of adding english voice work, Sega-CD version or otherwise.

Which is fine by me, since a play through of the Sega-CD version explains the story.
