When you are referring to SF: The Movie, the home ports were programmed by a Capcom staff. The arcade title was done by Strata aka Incredible Technologies via same crew as Time Killers and Blood Storm. I love all 3 Strata fighting games. Stratas SF The Movie was great. It had a great combo system, and the control was spot on and the animation was smooth.

The graphics were very detailed and very clear, and there was alto of secrets in the game like making the crowd explode on the Vega stage. I also tend to like Pit Fighter. I also liked Battle Monsters for Saturn. I own Time Killers arcade game board actually. I also have Survival Arts, which to me is better then MK 1 or 2. It is kinda cheesier, but there is way more play in it then Mk and better deaths. I also like Kusami Ninja,Ultra Vortek, and Way of the Warrior. Most people hate all 3 of those games to death.

I thought so...

Plus, SFTM is made by the TimeKillers people... 0_0...maybe not the console versions though...

Rise of the Robots should definitely have been on the list, whoever wrote that probably just picked whatever games get brought up the most in forums instead of doing any real research.  Rise of the Robots is the worst fighting game ever, I don't see how anyone who has actually sat down and played it on an actual Super Nintendo could argue otherwise.

I disagree, big time. There are many other fighters that are worse, but I'll just argue that Fight For Life is bad enough to prove your statement false.

...OK, Yu Yu Hakushou for 3D0 is pretty shit also. Probably better than Fight For Life though...

I'm pretty sure I hate every single game you mentioned there. I'm a huge fighting game fan, but I really really hate all that ultra-substandard, hyper violent crap from that period. Anything with "fatalities" in it can pretty much f*ck off. It was sad to see 2D fighting be relegated to the sub-sub-genre of hardcore only fans that its in now, but  that same market shrinkage process separated the wheat from the chaff, so to speak, and now all those shitty MK cash-ins are dead.

...except for MK itself, which not only lives on, just as shitty as it always was, but is actually doing pretty well financially speaking.

I detested MK2. It had an exceptionally stupid AI, worse than any of Strata's games, and its graphics were actually WORSE than the original MK. MK3 was better on both counts, although Ultimate MK3 brought back the stupid AI. The 3D versions that followed were marginal at best and you had to like them based on the storylines rather than the appearance, because Midway can't rig 3D models for shit. Deception is still the best game in the series IMO, even if its final boss was a cheese log left burning too long.

It is shit, along with Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat 3. Everything "Mortal Kombat" sucks.

f*ck the A.I. argument. AI is for FPS and chess, not fighting games. As a multiplayer fighter, it was awesome, and the graphics were still better than a LOT of other games at the time.

Agreed. I also have a lot more fun playing mind games with people on two player mode.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Yeah, I don't care if a fighting game has any AI at all. It can be multi-player only for all I care, since that's pretty much the only way I play them anyway. It can't be a fatality-based fighter with hidden Babalities enacted by crudely animated photos of porn stars wearing motocross protective gear though. f*ck that.
