Nope. The PSP is expensive toilet paper. Why not just buy the cheap stuff?

The PSP is the best portable system, ever.  It plays nearly every console PSX and before.  It can emulate many old computers and dos. 

Why the f*ck would I want to emulate DOS on a handheld? So I can relive the good ol' days of XCOPY and QBASIC, miniature-style?

Emulation is lame anyway.

I'll give you that. The screen is nice, actually I rather like the overall design of the PSP itself. That's the only thing it's got going for it IMHO.

For portable gaming give me a DS or PC Engine GT/TurboExpress.

The PSP is > PS3, Wii or 360

But why not just play the stuff on a regular computer? Seems to me like it would be a real pain to play those games without a real mouse.

I don't know how big it is exactly, but it's probably like the PSP but a bit thicker.


And the reason it does computer emulation so well is because it's not just some cheap Korean console, it's a portable Linux computer - just add the breakout box and you can hook up a keyboard, mouse and monitor.

Also, unlike the PSP, Gamepark EMBRACES homebrew, meaning there's no shitty firmware updates that destroy everything, and no special battery to make to get them back.

If you don't like LucasArts adventure games your opinion on everything else in the entire world is invalid.

Personally I don't play them on an actual computer because I hate playing games on a computer.  I could do it when I was a kid, but now I just f*cking hate it.  Plus they all run great on an Xbox and you can even use a USB mouse/keyboard if you want, but I just use the controller, it works fine.

Well yeah I guess you have to enjoy running a cursor over the screen looking for little things to click on so you can solve obtuse puzzles.  Monkey Island 1, 2, & 3 (4 is decent) are some of the best games I've ever played.

Bump to an old thread, emulation of many CD-Rom games is now down perfectly with use of the "official" emulator that was used in the PC Engine Best collections. I will upload some of my icons later tonight on my homescreen. PC Engine Best: YS Collection!!!!
