Ahh you beat me to it! :)

Despite the cheesy graphics, this game looks like it could be pretty fun and addicting.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I always thought that the Adventure Island games would make GREAT Wonder Boy games.  Screw this Higgin' dude.  Also, I am disappointed that this game is 4:3 only as displayed playing on the 16:9 monitor behind the talking Japanese dude at the end.

If they're doin' Higgin's, then, Bonk is coming.  They've said in the past that they were working on bringing Bonk back, & I think a new Adventure Island is just as likely as a new Bonk.

The graphics look like they were done by the team that did the updated Dracula X for PSP.

I wanted to be more positive, but I don't like the way this looks. The biggest offense, for me, is our hero: I just don't like the way he is modeled.

The ability to change his shorts and hat is nice, but he still looks dopey. I wish the character design was a bit more fun. He doesn't even look good on the skateboard + helmet.

The 3-D skating doesn't look too bad, actually. It's nothing groundbreaking, I'm sure, but I think I'd prefer the boring old 2-D skating sequences

I think this game is looks more like Donkey Kong Kountry than Adventure Island.

Yeah it's kind of bad that the Adventure Island remake for PS2/GC has nicer graphics than this. On a sidenote, I actually really liked that remake (it had "fun", yet low production graphics), and I'm not really the kind of person into remakes.

Oh hell yeah!  If this game is to be any good, you'll be able to buy/find/earn new clothes for the Higgster to wear!  It's more fun than dressing up your Barbie doll!

Yeah, he doesn't look like his jolly self.  Maybe he hasn't been eating enough fruit and chicken legs while running around and he's wasting away.

Agreed.  The jungle area definitely has that feel, though the beach area looks more appropriate.

Indeed.  Such crap annoys the hell out of me; if the character's appearance is to change, it should be tied to a special ability.  Otherwise, it's just a stupid time waster to artificially lengthen the game.

Since when did games lose points for cheesiness??

I like his new, slender appearance! Maybe all the fresh fruits, veggies, milk, and exercise have done our hero good!
