Are you sure it's 100k?  If so the second 50k comes one hell of a lot quicker than the first 50k.

100k the first time, 1,000,000 the second time.

The score ramps differently in "Why are you playing a second time" mode.

To feel better, though, I listen to the music from Insanity. It helps console me and my inept gaming skills.
