Title: 1CC Shirts' December Shirt-PC Engine
Post by: jtucci31 on December 02, 2014, 02:25:39 PM
A thread about a shirt? Dumb? Maybe. I just think the shirt is really cool. I like the shirts 1cc does but this one obviously has enough of my interest to want to buy the shirt.

1cc shirts does various video game related shirts every month. For only a month at a time. So last month's shirt was of a Taito Egret Candy Cab and they've had x68k shirts, Hudson soft shirts, etc. I'm sure some of you have heard of them, and I've seen the site posted here before, but just for those that don't know.

Normally I'd say $25 is high for just one shirt, but since it's Christmas season i can easily shoehorn this in somewhere and drop hints about wanting this. Figured maybe some of you would want to do the same. :)

For the lazy, the front of the shirt.

And back of the shirt.

The NEC logo ruins it. Looks like a casual retro gamer wanted to make a quick buck off of the PCE market.

I wouldn't say it's quite as bad as that, but it definitely does look out of place.

Then why the hell aren't we making T-Shirts and flogging them for profit?

Blodia shirt anyone?

You know I adore Blodia Apparel.

Plus, I still want to see this shirt made:

If they wanted to slap a logo on there, it should have been the "HE system" one (you don't see "NEC" on every game cover). If they're trying to recreate a format they used with "normal" consoles and wanted to put a corporate logo to identify the console by, using just NEC wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't beneath Hudson's iconic artwork of the console they designed, taken from their game celebrating Hudson Soft in general. As-is, it just looks like "I don't really understand this console people told me is cool". Kinda like Dave Halverson's Genesis anniversary special, in which he brags about how the Z80 is the cpu that made the Genesis the most powerful 16-bit system.

It would have been more appropriate paired with a TG-16 pic.

I've always liked what 1cc offers.
