The NEC logo ruins it. Looks like a casual retro gamer wanted to make a quick buck off of the PCE market.
I wouldn't say it's quite as bad as that, but it definitely does look out of place.
If they wanted to slap a logo on there, it should have been the "HE system" one (you don't see "NEC" on every game cover). If they're trying to recreate a format they used with "normal" consoles and wanted to put a corporate logo to identify the console by, using just NEC wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't beneath Hudson's iconic artwork of the console they designed, taken from their game celebrating Hudson Soft in general. As-is, it just looks like "I don't really understand this console people told me is cool". Kinda like Dave Halverson's Genesis anniversary special, in which he brags about how the Z80 is the cpu that made the Genesis the most powerful 16-bit system.
It would have been more appropriate paired with a TG-16 pic.
