Trying to create a list of PCE alternatives to GEN/MD top exclusives

I might be in the minority but when I tried Shubibinman 3, the first two things I thought of were Megaman and Actraiser. the way he swings the sword in particular, reminded me of actraiser.

I would tend to agree that if you were trying to "sell" someone on a console it's best to go on the merits of its original and invidual games. Using the "me too" approach so sells people on the TG16/PCE is a bit like the ranger rover evoque clone from China. It will never be the reall thing. The difference is that the PCE is the real thing and did it first. Hopefully my point is clear, it's a pain typing on my phone.

That being said, it is nice to have a list of comparative games.

TO BE HONEST: I thought my claim that Shubibinman 3 = the *precursor* to Gunstar Heroes (I haven't even looked up release dates) was the outrageous claim I was going to have a hard time defending!

TBH I thought I was the only one thinking that way

Well, you're not off-base with Megaman... lots of folks make that comparison (especially with Shubibinman 2, which was released as "Shockman" in NA)... I think TTi was hoping that folks would associate it with Megaman.

In fact, I have a theory that the only reason the PIECE OF SHITE known as *Bravoman* was released here in the States is because NEC was hoping it was *reminiscent* of Megaman.

Which, actually, comes back to the spirit of this thread.

Nothing on Feka can compare to Ninja Spirit. Quite a few things compare to Soldier Blade, just not as well.

Soldier Blade isn't even the best shooter on the PCE, let alone the several Genesis shooters that are better (most of those being horizontals though).

Apart from Lords of Thunder there is no shooter on FEKA that comes close to the greatness of Soldier Blade.

Gate of Thunder is probably my most favorite shooter, although i haven't played Soldier Blade.

Well, the problem is that Shubibinman 3, which is a kindred to spirit to Gunstar Heroes (dare I say a *precursor* to Gunstar Heroes), is pathetically easy and therefore, ironically, the *antithesis* of Gunstar Heroes (which is challenging).

Gunstar Heroes challenging !? Not really if you know how to play it.

My comment was in reference/comparison to Shubibinman 3... Shubibinman 3 makes Gunstar Heroes feel "Hard Corps."

I am *eviscerating* Shubibinman 3 because it is such a disappointment (you don't have to touch the controller and you will beat Shubibinman 3 on first try).

I know I tend to exaggerate, but I don't think I am when I say...

Shubibinman 3 = Shenanigan x3

...because it is insultingly too short and too easy (especially given the challenge of the first two Shubibinman games).

I didn't make the connection so you had me lost on the comment.I saw you said gunstar heroes was challenging which left me scratching my head as in what !?
