Sheesh, that's pretty ridiculous.  It seems like it would be so much easier to just offer it at a reasonable price to begin with....

That sort of thing isn't new. People would never want a piece of shit 3DO on it's own merrits. They have to believe it's rare. One of the easiest ways to do that is to just jack the price thorough the roof. If it's $40 people will assume it sucks. If it's $1000 they'll assume it's some truly unique stuff.

It makes no sense, but it works.

I've been looking for a 3DO.  I used to have one.  It has some good games on it.  Not a lot, but if you keep your eye out you can pick the system up on the cheap.  I'm going to wait until the next time doujindance has an RGB-modded one up on eBay.  Depending on what games come with it and whether or not they are CIB, $99 may not be that bad of a deal. 

That being said, I know what the OP means about annoying CL/eBay sellers.

Lol. I got my 3do for $15 with a controller and 2-3 games and thought it might have been too much :)  $200 is obscene.
