I would imagine any remake would be of the SNES version since the PC-Engine one isn't Canon.

Not anymore   This game will be canon.  If you think about it, Falcom never made there own version of Ys 4, Hudson made Dawn of Ys, & Tonkin House(IIRC) made Mask of the Sun(& Taito made Mask of the Sun: A New Theory).  They based there games on whatever documentation Falcom gave them & all came up with different games that had similarities.  So, this is actually Falcom making there own game.  It does make me wonder if Arem will be in this.  There was supposed to be an X68000 Ys 4, as there is a soundtrack for it, & it has the track for Arem!

In any case, I'm guessing the party member they show following Adol are Karna & Duren.  I'm sure Dogi is also playable.  Not sure who else they would add in.

Hmmm...so are they going to do the gameplay like Ys Seven?  That's nice and all but I would like them to use the Ys 6-Origin style of gameplay.

Yeah, it's the Ys Seven engine, which is fine with me.  I'd prefer the Ark, Origins, Felghana engine, but, at the same time, atleast in Dawn of Ys, you had other characters fighting with you.  Plus, I'm sure the engine will be improved upon compared to Ys Seven, just like Felghana & Origin were improved compared to Ark.

I wish they would develop these games for a console. I don't much care for portable RPGs.
