Mine is the gp2x Wiz.  Small little opensource handheld, with a beautiful OLED screen.  It's just a little bit bigger than a GBA Micro.  It's a very nice looking little machine.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GP2X_Wiz

2.Sony PSP
3.Gameboy advance
4:Sega Nomad
5. Game Axe

As much as I like the Game Gear, it's not especially sexy. The Lynx model 2 and the Turbo Express both have it beat in that department.

The Gameboy Color was nicer than it's predecessor, but not really sexy. but anything would look sexy when your only competition, in the late 90s, was the Game.com.

The Wonderswan was pretty, and the WSC made it even better. By comparison, the NGPC was kinda clunky. (but oh, that clicky stick.)

The Gameboy Advance SP was pretty nice looking, as is the DSLite. The Original DS and Advance were not so nice. The Gameboy Micro was nice, but not as nice as a fashion accessory should have been.

It's odd that you'd say that and then specifically mention...

...its actual competition.

Granted, sales-wise, the GBC didn't have any true competition, but both the NGP and WS were significantly more relevant that that piece of crap Game.com that had no good games and very low sales.

So this thing is basically made to emulate old consoles?  Does it come with built in emulators?  Is it easy to use?

Kind of cool, never saw it before.

1) yes, 2) no, you have to download them 3) yes, mostly.

I've had 2. both broke, as the screens are super fragile.

I have had my GP2X Wiz handheld since it was launched.  It still works like a champ.  I believe Ceti has one as well.  It doesn't have built in emulators but the emulators are super easy to install and get working.  I mainly use it for Genesis/MD Sega CD, Amiga, Atari ST, SNES, MAME (runs and old build and a lot of games need overclocking), Final Burn Alpha, GnGeo, and most importantly, Tg-16.  The TG-16/PC-E emulator is amazing!  The only emulators that need overclocking are Amiga, MAME, and SNES.  Most SNES games are full speed minus a the special Chip games.  I still use the thing every day.  It's better for people that have smaller hands.  I believe ThinkGeek still sells them for $100.  If you're into oldschool emulation on the go it really is a great little hand held.

Guyjin did your screens get pixel rot or did you happen to drop it?  I heard that people who have dropped their handheld have had the screen eventually go bad.

I don't remember a specific incident of dropping it, but as clumsy as I am, it's inevetable.

the first one got dark spots all over it, the second had the screen crack, after keeping it in a padded carrier in my pants pocket, which got bumped.

You can get a cream to fix that. The spots and dry, cracked condition are tell-take signs of crotch fungus.

1) Neo Geo Pocket Color. I've always thought these looked great, very slick design and great small size. Always wanted one as a kid but since I never had a lot in spending money I went with Nintendos offerings because I at the time suspected(and was correct) that it likely wouldn't last very long as a competitor.

2) Game Boy Advance(Original). I've loved the look of this fantastic little system ever since I first saw it. Same reason I like my other 2 picks, very sleek design, its only flaw in my eyes are its at times awkward to use shoulder buttons.

3) Sony PSP-3000. If it wasn't for the absolutely piss poor ergonomics these have I might actually rank it 1st. Its extremely sleek and when clean of finger prints drop dead gorgeous.

this

I LOVE THIS THING, even if its just for the shear audacity of it. It actually sucks to use. After you get a few dozen hours on the little stick attachment thing it starts to get worse and worse, eventually giving you the same response as a worn out Genesis controller (ie: I know I pushed up, I can see my finger on the "up" arrow right now. Why is my dude walking to the left!?!)

No, that would be this:

The irony is that in this day in age the NGP, despite dying rather quickly, is WAY more fun to play than a Gameboy Color.

That, and you need bionic implants to see the f*cking screen.
