I suck at new first person shooters.

Hahaha, me too and I thought I was the only one. I tried to play one of the Call of duty games on the GameCube years ago but could not get very far. Just couldn't get the hang of all those buttons required to play it. That's why I stick to the turbo, only two buttons;)
Turbo fan since 1991 after owning my first system.

-Any Mario Party-style game.
It's not sucking at those games, it's bad luck.
seriously, i have won exactly one game since i was 12, though i've been in the lead roughly 90% of the time on most games.
playing mario party 3, i was ahead by 8 stars on the last turn when my friend got the chance time square and then stole ALL of my motherf*cking stars.

When I was a little kid the same thing happened I was playing with my older brother and his two friends. It was the last turn and I was in 4th place. I stole like 5 stars from my brothers friend who was in first.

I suck at:
*Mortal Kombat - apparently my Street Fighter skills aren't applicable.
*Puzzle games - I'm talking Klax or Tricky Kick; Bomberman and Puyo Puyo are action games.
*Football - it would probably help if I knew the rules.
*Games on 6th & 7th generation consoles.
*NES Mario games - I don't suck, but I've never had the patience to beat any of them.  I often hit a point of diminishing returns with platformers; by the time I've seen 90% of a game, it's hard to justify sinking another 10+ hours into mastering the most challenging last level(s).

RPG's - I just can't get into them.

I think the Fallout series on the PC are the only ones that I played through to the end, was good at and enjoyed.

Lately, anything that uses the rear touch pad on the PS Vita, I suck at it.

Also, Mario 1.  Somehow everyone can beat that game with one life like it isn't an issue.  I always make it to world 8-3 and get blasted.

Finally, Splatterhouse.  How come everyone thinks this game is easy?  I always get my ass kicked.

* Turn-based RPGs: I suck at them, I don't have the patience for them and the very idea of taking turns to beat each other up is weird to me. However, there are some I will be willing to give a try. I picked up Kabuki den in the hopes that one day I would sit down and play it  :P
* Fighting games: I can never remember the specific button presses required to pull of a special attack thus I am reduced to simply button mashing. And all people around me are better at them, it would seem
* Visual Novels: I just don't get them. I want to play a game, not read a book. Especially not in moon runes. Weird thing is though - I kinda like so called "adventure games", dating sims, interactive comics, etc which plays very much the same as VNs but also offer some sort of real game or other experience beneath it all. Case in point -> Galaxy Fraulein Yuna. Not much "gameplay" to be found here but I like them still while I hate everything that Key ever made.
SHMUPs: I love shmups, but for the slightly wrong reasons. I love the cool looking spaceships, the wonderful background art, the music etc. But I suck at the games. I bought Avenger quite a while back and have been returning to it every now and then and I've only made it to level 2....like once. : /
...and I would anger many a shooting fan in saying that I don't care very much for CAVE. Their new games looks so horribly digitized and have odd perspectives.

I suck at the genres I don't like. RPG, realistic sport and simulators of different kinds.

With the exceptions of most sports games, which I've played less than an hour combined in my whole life, the one that jumps to mind is...

Mario Kart.

That's right, Mario Kart.  SNES.  The game that everyone can play, and everyone can beat me at.  I'll own anyone at anything given a similar playing time (actually that's just bragging, but let's say videogames are my hobby, and I practice a lot).

Oh, and even a small child would beat me at Tony Hawk games, but I put that down to the fact that I can actually skate, so I'm really impressed with a tre flip on a nice transition.

Oddly enough I suck at most shooters but not all.

I do fine with games like Einhander, Thunder Force 4, Lords of Thunder, Gate of Thunder, Robo Aleste and Final Soldier. I suck at all the other Soldier series on the PCE, all of the Gradius series (minus 3 on SNES and 4 on PS1), R-Type, Pulstar, Last Resort, Tatsujin, Air Zonk, Ikuraga and most other vertical shooters hand me my ass most of the time.

I also suck at the older Mortal Kombat games as the controls are borderline broken to me, along with the stiff gameplay as well. I could be a little better at 3D fighters, but not all too bad at Tekken 3, Tag and Soul Caliber 1, but that is just due to lack of practice and learning the games more. When it comes to my friends, nobody plays 1 on 1 fighters these days... just FPS games online.

I wish I was better at playing some harder Strategy/SRPG games like X-com UFO Defense, but I am excellent at all the Command and Conquer games. BTW, check out C & C: Red Alert 3 for PC, XB360 or PS3. It is one of the best RTS games I have ever played... very enjoyable. You can get it on the cheap and also don't forget to download the stand alone side game Commanders Challenge. Lol, Rick Flair is in the FMV in-game parts.

Yeah I'll have to add Mortal Kombat and some recent 3d fighting games.  I used to rock at tekken till tekken 4 came out.  Now i don't know any characters or moves for Soul Calibur, Tekken, or Virtua Fighter.  Now it all just feels like button mashing.  Not very fun at all, and I suck at them.  Oh did I mention I also suck at Mortal Kombat.  Not that I give a shit.
