Microsoft should just leave the dashboard the f*ck alone.
« on: April 25, 2012, 01:00:36 AM »
I'm really pissed off that I can't arrange my apps, and the format of the arcade games list.  I have a lot of games on there, and it's really f*cking hard to remember what I have without slowly scrolling through them all - add that to the fact that I can't filter out demos.

Preach it, brother! I'm a "free" Live member, so I have no place to bitch, but finding my eff'n game I bought and want to play should not be hard!?

When you go to "games" they're no longer compartmentalised.  You can select a filter, but only one at a time, and arcade games incluse demos.  Stupid.  The metro UI does look alright though.

I like it.  The set-up is really nice, and easy to use.  I got used to it pretty quick.  :)

Can't you just press the XBOX button (or whatever that button is called) to bring up a pseudo-"blades" type of menu and select games?  They really do have issues settling on a GUI.  I like PS3's GUI a lot I just wish it wasn't so slow to deal with in-game and we probably don't need that many categories.

I hardly ever turn my 360 on, and every time I do, the dashboard looks different (after the requisite update.). Don't they have better things to do?  I still like the original dashboard with the "blades" or whatever.

You bought the console. You have plenty of place.

I still miss the original blades setup. I really couldn't stand NXE. I haven't spent enough time with this new setup to have an opinion.

My biggest gripe is that you need Gold to watch Youtube. WTF?

The last update bricked my console.  I am out of warranty, so now I need to buy a new one or waste all of the games I've built up for the system.  Lame.

My video chip fried after about 5 years, but the whole thing cost me £50.  I got a new one with HDMI for another £50, and then a composite cable for my Wii, which sorted out a bunch of cabling :)

I am just waiting until it goes on sale for $200 with a HD.  Should be holiday 2012 for sure.

I just think there's generally too much stuff in your face in the recent dashboards. When I bought mine, the avatar-dashboard had already arrived so I haven't really got to use the blade-dash but...this one, it kind of ruins the whole point of themes or custom backdrops. But really, no, I don't care there's a new DLC for Gears, not interested in hiring a movie from whatever, get it out of my face. >: |

You missed it back during Black Friday last year. Best Buy, Newegg, and I think Gamestop had the 250GB model with 2 games for $200. It's why I got mine.

(Newegg actually started their promotion early Thanksgiving morning, and that's when I jumped on it.)
