Mega/Rock Man Thread

Anyone into this series? I know some people think the theme is kinda repetitive and dull, but it's so darn fun, and I have tons and tons of music on CD and minidiscs to listen to while I'm driving. Sometimes I wondered why Megaman never got a PC Engine release.

I own and beaten with the exception of Megaman X7 and X8
>All 6 NES Megamans
>Megaman X1-X6
>Rockman X3 for Sega Saturn
>Megaman 1-3 on Game Boy B&W
>Rockman 7 and Rockman & Forte for Super Famicom
>Megaman & Bass on GBA
>Aced out Megaman Anniversary Collection on PS2 and Gamecube

I have all of the NES (and most of the Famicom) carts. Even though installment 4, 5 and 6 felt a bit lackluster when they originally came out, I totally appreciate them now.

I've never played the GB titles... I still have to get those one of these days.

Megaman on NES is Capcom kicking butt. When MegaMan 2 came out, it was so awesome, and it rivalled any platformer you'd find on the Genny and TG-16. Seriously.

Quote from: "sorry for tangent"
NES had tons of games that I kept going back to when I got bored of countless Genny and TG-16 games:
MicroMachines Racing (NES) -- this was so well done. This is what MotoRoader should have been like!
MegaMan II -- Many folks feel that Shockman / Shubibinman is a cross between Megaman and Gun Star Heroes. OK, only I think that. I also think that the only reason NEC released Bravoman here is because it *looked* like it was a Megaman-esque. I'm serious.
Super C -- Konami has always squeezed amazing things from the consoles they've worked on. Parodius on PCE, for example.
Bases Loaded -- this is simply the best baseball game, ever. the play mechanics and control is spot-on perfect. Customizing entire teams, from the players' names to their stats. Powering up you players' skills. Playing entire seasons has never been so much friggin' fun. SNK's sequel on Neo Geo couldn't even touch the greatness of this NES game. I'm serious.

X7 is absolutely horrible in every way, it's the only truly bad game in the series I think.  I've beaten nearly every other one except for x3 because it's so god damn expensive on ebay and I didn't want to play a rom of it.

So yeah I love the series to death, hell I even love all the spin offs like  Legends (2 was insanely awesome), Command Mission (one of the best RPGs on the ps2/gamecube in my opinion), and Tron Bonne (a classic as far as I'm concerned).  The only ones I don't like are the shitty gameboy pokemon style ones, battle network or whatever they're called, those suck ass.

Ehh, better not talk here, I can't stand the series.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).
