I'll take your word for it. this is the first one i have owned. I was mainly going by most reviews i have read for the thing. All i can tell you is, i have one, and my friend has one and they work just fine. How about some pics of this sega play pal thingy your talking about, you have my interest.

Thats it right there. Its a decent unit for being a built in games type item. I only had to pay a few bucks though for mine. I have not tested the tv out on it, but the screen, though small, is very clear and easy to see.

Esteban, your killing me. I appreciate the laugh. screen in action shot is forthcoming. The wife has been on vacation and she took the good camera's.

Thanks for the updated picture, but damn, that camera is pretty sad .

Even if GameAxe had issues in manufacturing (as Professor Michael stated), I would still like to try it out. I was going to buy one of these when they were first released, but I must have used the money for HuCards instead.

Professer, i have been looking for one of those. I'm jealous you got one. very nifty little system. Yea, my camera does suck, but the screen has to be seen to be believed. I think its the same screen that steve is putting in the GT's. I will update it when i can do better.

I'd be willing to trade mine off for something, a few Snes games or whatever. Note though, the onboard speaker seems to not work. I don't know what the deal with that is, just doesn't. Physically its in awesome condition, so who knows why it doesn't. Its not the volume controls, they work fine as I play the thing with headphones. Honestly I only play the thing when I am in waiting rooms for my kids doc appointments, so I'd not be using the onboard audio anyway. Except on those rare occasions, it stays tucked away nice and safe in a game drawer otherwise. I've beat a few games on it so far, Altered Beast, Kung Fu Kid, and Fantasy Zone and one other I think, and I spent about 4 hrs playing Super Columns. Also, and not to sidetrack from this discussion or anything, but did you get your Dos box set up with a decent pci 2d card? If not I have a S3 Verge pci card here I'd be willing to trade if you needed one still.

I want one of these to play famicom games, but they're ass-rape expensive.  As a portable NES though?  Pass.  Until they create a handheld NES that doesn't require the cartridges to stick off the top of the system...

Portable Famicoms are dirt cheap in Japan. This one is about $25. Add in another $20 or so for shipping via SAL and it's not a bad deal. Can't really speak for their quality though.

Holy shit that's awesome!!  Way cooler than the "pokefami" ones I've been seeing around.  I'd have to pay a third-party bidding service to have it shipped here, though, and those cost a lot. :/  Any of those available like...on evilbay or something?
