Castlevania Curse of Darkness for PS2
« on: January 25, 2006, 05:08:27 AM »
I recently picked up Castlevania COD among a billion other games.  I played into it for a bit and feel that it will not be such a great experience.  I could be wrong but it seems to me that lament of innocence looked a hell of a lot better.  This game has a bit of a soul reaver feel to it graphically and gameplay wise.  Should I feel it out a bit more or should I off it on ebay.  I have Dragon Quest VIII and a ton more to play anyway.
What a horrible night to have a curse...

I haven't played any of the CV games on the ps2 or the GBA. I wouldn't mind for your opinion though. The latest CV games I've played was SOTN and Chronicles for the ps1. I own a ps2 but the only games I own are ddr max, mgs2, and mgs3. The only reason I bought a ps2 is for metal gear. Currently my ps2 sits under my tv, only being used as a dvd player and to play ddr for some exercise.

That game is a little better than Lament of Innocence simply because you can collect souls which makes exploring a little more worthwhile, but over all it's a gigantic piece of shit that doesn't fix ANY of the problems people had with Lament (boring gameplay, horrible graphics, same looking environments, long boring corridors).  Sell it while it's worth some money.

Lament of Innocence is much better. The level design in Curse of Darkness si simply terrible. At least they put some effort into that in Lament.

Also, what do you mean with "I recently picked up Castlevania COD among a billion other games"? Sounds a bit suspicious.

I just mean for the holidays, I got some good presents.  And bought a pc-engine supergrafx/cdrom2, so I've got my hands full!!  No need to play games that suck.

Anyway, I sold it and got close to 40 bucks for it!! Thanks for the advice GUTS. Now I can pick up some old school games...
