Whats on your backlog list?
« on: September 09, 2012, 06:31:04 AM »
My pile of "yet to play" seems to have grown. I've been picking up some clearance games lately for current gen, and I have a few retro purchases that I'm yet to touch as well. Just curious, what games are you sitting on that you haven't gotten to yet, but plan on it soon?  I know it's probably a very long list for some members, but which few do you definitely plan on getting to next?

For me...

PS3:
Duke Nukem
Rage
Castlevania Lords of Shadow (actually already beat this when it was first released, but I sold it shortly after and I found it at toys r us for $5 last week.  I'm determined to play through it again)

Wii:
Cursed Mountain (started the first hour or so of this and I want to get back to it)
Last Story
New SMB

Turbo:
Mysterious Song
Dragon Slayer
Neutopia
Final Lap Twin RPG

Every year, I have a tradition of beating the original NES Zelda, and I haven't done it yet in 2012 so I have to get on that.

hmm right now off the top of my head:

SNES
Chrono trigger

N64
VW Beetle Racing

Game Cube
Skies of Arcadia

NES
Megman 1 and 2

Turbo Grafx
Air Zonk
Cadash

You def. need to get on the Final lap thing! the engrish is fantastic, and the story isn't have bad either.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.

You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

I got a lot on the PC Engine side to spend time on and lots of titles on the PSP I need to work on, namely R-Type Command.

I'm more of a computer game player right now.  I'm recently married and the wife and I are stuck in a one bedroom condo while we are saving for a real house that we will hopefully have in the next 1.5 to 2 years.  I don't have an area where I can leave the Duo and my TG-16+CD set up for any extended period of time (i.e. more than a day).  Once we get the house I'll have a game room where I can set stuff up and leave it.  My own 'man cave' as people call it.

Right now I'm playing Orcs Must Die 2 and Word of Warcraft.  I'll be getting the WoW expansion when it comes out later this month.

I feel your pain.  cramped places stink.  I can't set up more than 1 system at the moment and that system sits on top of other items.  I'ver heard fairly good things about orcs.

Yeah,

Cramped living quarters suck.  I can't wait till I can have a bookcase or shelves where I can have everything on display and browse through my collection rather than sift through dresser drawers and plastic totes from Wal-Mart.

Orcs Must Die and Orcs Must Die 2 are a lot of fun.  Highly addictive and has loads of re-playability.  The second one has co-op and endless modes.  Tons of fun and I highly recommend it.  With the games at under 15.00 each, you can't go wrong.

My backlog is so ridiculous....there's no point in posting it all.  I'll just say lately, I've been working on playing thru all the Spidermen games from the PS1 on up(though, I actually played the first DC version of Spiderman 1).  IIRC, I started with Spiderman 1 & 2 Enter Electro, then went up to Ultimate Spiderman, then played the 3 movie games in order for PS2 with SM 3 on PS3(I hear SM3 on PS2 is a different game), then Friend or Foe, Web of Shadows, & am currently on Shattered Dimensions, which is flippin' awesome!  I'm almost done with that, & will move onto Edge of Time, & eventually when Amazing Spiderman drops to $20 or less, I'll pick that one up.

I also went on a barrage of playing my Transformer games, starting War for Cybertron, then Armada on PS2, followed by the 3 movie games on PS3(man, the first movie game is terrrrrrrrrrrible!).  I got Fall of Cybertron, might play that before playing SM Edge of Time.  I don't think I'll ever be able to beat the first Beast Wars game, it's just too junky & difficult.  I already had beaten BW Transmetals for PS1 BITD, but found the N64 game to be quite difficult.  I also have the Jp only Tatakei, but, it's fairly bland in the gameplay department, though it's awesome that it's almost completely in english, & even calls the bot's by their US names(ie: Optimus Prime instead of Convoy, Jazz instead of Meister, Ravage instead of Jaguar, etc.).  There's an old BW GBC game, but I've never been able to track it down for cheap, so, oh well.  There's also a Transformers Prime game coming to DS, 3DS, & Wii(& possibly the Wii U). No matter what, I'll probably hold off till it's cheap, & get it on Wii or Wii U.

I do wish to play thru all the localised Growlanser games, as well as the Wild Arms(only beat 1, 4, & Alter Code F).  These are the main game series coming to mind ATM.  Oh, I still need to play Arkham Asylum, & need to pick up Arkham City.  Also, I have  alot of Final Fantasy's that I've never played.  The ones I've beaten are 1 on PSP, 4 on PSP, 5 on PS1, 7 PS1(was actually my first FF), 8, 10...& I think that's it.  I will eventually beat 2 on PSP, 3 on PSP, 6 on SNES(or PS1 or maybe something else in the future), 9, 12, 13 PS3, 13-2 PS3, 13 VS. PS3, 0...assuming it ever gets an english translation.  I have beaten Dirge of Ceberus & Crisis Core.  I would like them to bring over Before Crisis, hopefully on the Vita, though they talked about bringing it to 3DS.  I have no desire to beat 10-2, it just....I can't get into it.  Heh, same goes for 11 but for different reasons.  I would like to eventually beat Tactics on PSP, as well as the 2 Dissidia games.

My backlog isn't unplayed games, it's unfinished games. I have a terrible habit of giving up or getting distracted in the middle of RPGs.

Let's see...
Ys - beat the SMS version, but not the TGCD, so I've never played Book 2.
Dragon Slayer - lost my slot 2/3 through
Dragon Warrior III - 1/3 through
Dungeons and Dragons Heroes XBOX - left off in the last dungeon
Neutopia II - played it a lot, maybe halfway
Dungeon Magic NES - near the end
Miracle Warriors SMS - made it to the last boss, defeated. Need to level up and try again.
Faria NES - 1/3
Snakes Revenge NES - 1/2
Hydlide - made it to the last castle back in '92, got stuck
Exile 2 - last tower, of course

The list goes on: Guardian War 3DO, Wizardry NES, Dynastic Hero, DE2...
STATUS: Try not to barf in your mouth.

I'm in the same boat as vestcoat.  LOTS of unfinished RPGs.  Hopefully I'll make it through Mysterious Song. :)

My backlog is way to big. Back at about the PS2 era i used to buy clearance games all the time and still haven't gotten around to plenty of them.  Also around the same time I started picking up RPG's on the systems of that era b/c i didn't want them to be $80-100 when i did want them.

I hate hate hate when I play a game to the near end and don't finish it like vestcoat mentioned.  I even do that w/ A quality games.  Some that come to mind are:
-Okami - one of my favorite PS2 games
-Lufia 1 - played it to death and got to the last boss and lost and somehow gave up.
-FF XIII -quit near the end when i got tired of the secondary stuff

As far as what I plan to play upcoming the top 6 in no particular order are:
-Journey (PS3)
-Mysterious Song (TGCD)
-Walking  Dead Episode 3 (PC)
-Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii)
-Magic Knight Rayearth (Saturn)
-this is pretty generic but break out the intellivision and give that a whirl for a while.

That w/ some other stragglers will get me to the holiday releases that I am interested in.
Gypsies did it.

Got no luv for the krackers only slugs for the krackers!

I have a backlog since 1994. Gave up keeping track of it 15 years ago. Guess I'll never see the ending of Megami Paradise.

Ugh, yup, me too in regards to the .hack series!  I have all 7 of them, & want to play thru them.  I hear they're kinda short, makes me want them to do an HD compilation of them.  Ofcoase, it stinks that there's more of them on PSP that we'll probably never get. :(
