I've no nothing about the CDX, is it a worthwhile unit to buy? seen a bunch of inexpensive lots on the eblays.

It has quite a few decent games on it, only worth it if the price is right though, definitely not a system that's worth a large financial outlay. No copy protection on it either, so easy to try games before you buy.

I managed to grab one for free from an old job I had years ago. It's an insanely cool machine, and one that I wish they would've promoted a little more, as I had no idea it existed until the late 90s. It works great as an extremely portable Genesis/SegaCD, and though I have a Genesis and SegaCD, I always pull this out first when I want to play one of those games.
Games I Need: Bonk 3 (HuCard), Legend of Hero Tonma, Magical Chase, Soldier Blade, Super Air Zonk.

Got one to sell? PM me!

I It runs all regular Genesis and CD games right? I'm not a huge genesis fan, but I wouldn't mind having an all in one unit like the CDX.

Yeah, as far as I know. It runs every one I've tried.

I've got limited space and it seems like it would totally fit my "needs."

It's not crazy expensive either.

Another Genesis/CD console is the JVC X'Eye. Wonder Mega in other parts of the world.

It's not a good one for video-modding, since everything is crammed in pretty tight. I use an s-video modded 32x with my cdx, and it works great. Looks funny too.

The Sega CD version of Jurassic Park apparently bugs up on the CDX. As far as I know there's no other compatibility problems. It's a very small nice all-in one unit. I like it way more than the X-eye.

The CDX is pretty amazing and has good sound, unlike most Genesis systems. There's no need to video mod it (or a 32X) since you can already get RGB/component/s-video from the default video out jack.

The Sega-CD library definitely worth investing in the setup.

The CDX is a good little system as long as you don't overpay for it. It goes for stupid prices these days sometimes.

What's a good price range for these things?

I got one a few months back. I paid 150, but it came with a dozen games or so. Final fight, sonic cd, afterburner 3, and others. I love it so far, but I haven't tried Jurassic park on it. Haven't had any compatibility issues, and I have about 20 games for it.

I would also guess that it's the most reliable US sega cd system
