I have a game gear that appears to be on it's last legs.  It works "sometimes" (games take a couple of tries to finally work) and screen is pretty dim.  No sound either.
If anybody wants it as a project/guinea pig, let me know.  All I ask is shipping.

yeah i want one but im afraid his price might be more then i want to spend to play game gear games on my  monitor

Yeah, but if you use it to add TV-out to your GG, or use it to make a consolized GG, how much would that then be worth?  Unless he wants like $100 for the kit, I'll probably order one.

agreed, game gear games are incredibly cheap around me, and i'd actually play it if it was "consolized"

That's how I feel.  The GG has such a crappy screen that I just don't want to play it.  But if it was consolized and set up to use an SMS controller (or whatever,) that would be pretty sweet.

Personally I'd love one of these:

Yep, some guy consolised a Game Gear.

That's way beyond my abilities.  I was just going to put it in a generic metal project box from the local electronics hobby shop.

don't know why companies dont copy shit like this and do more retro stuff. it would sell. look at atari flashback.

I think he charged me like $70. I gladly paid. Just wish sega had put out some sort of official means to do this in the early '90s.

Thats pretty nice. I have a dead game gear i found in the garbage. I think all it needs is  a full recap. If the recap job works im gonna see if i can get this kit too.
