The problem is that the museum pretty much can't be improved because people will want to see the same games over and over.  I mean, hell, I spent more time playing games that I already owned last year.  :-#
Yeah this is a problem with the MGC. You really only need to go to it once because it will be mostly the same experience the next time. Of course I love to go to see a new Marty speech each time 8) .

Are you guys actually going to do Turbo fest again?  Maybe you can put out the Mysterious Song beta or something, hahahaha.
I wouldn't mind doing it again and turbo_sage seems up for it. We have discussed revealing a demo of our TOP SECRET Frozen Utopia game at it! That would be the first time the game has ever been shown public after it's two years of development!

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Well, if you want to go I guess I have to go too unless you can find someone to crash with since you can't get a hotel room until next year.  ](*,)

The only Turbo thing I can bring is a copy of Far East of Eden II.  But I can bring one smallish TV and one largish TV if you guys are short of that.  I know that was your big problem last year.

I'm mostly interested in seeing if NASAchusetts is up for it, especially since he didn't go last year. I guess I better make a thread on LaZer Dorks to provoke his attention.

I would also like to know a little more about all this. Sounds like it would be a blast.  :) Whether or not I can arrange time and money is another story, but you never know.

I might be going to the MGC afterall since my brother is interested in going. I'll talk to turbo_Sage on AIM if I see him about Turbo Fest.

Xiphas is the third member here from Crete, Illinois. He lives approx. three minutes away from me in walking distance.

You walk slow.  Two minutes.  8)

Seconded.  But I would wait to see if Keranu and TurboSage can set up the Turbo fest part before really setting anything up.  I'll be sure to bring some Battletech stuff if you do manage to get to Oconomowoc!  8)

Honestly, the best descriptions are the two articles Keranu wrote on Lazer Dorks that he linked to earlier.

Team Fremont probably has some videos and probably a podcast or two about MGC.

TurboSage has a couple of YouTube videos on it too, I think.  Search for "Midwest Gaming Classic" on YouTube, it is the first result I think.

DHG Hunter here at PCEFX is one of the organizers of the show, he might show up in this thread again so you can ask him some questions directly.

Also, be sure to read this thread from page one, there is lots of good info in here.

My Summary: The 2006 MGC was awesome beyond compare.  The 2007 MGC kinda sucked.  As long as you don't take things too seriously, you can have some major fun.  8)

Don't forget that we would have to have a ArmageTron LAN party while watching episodes of Star Trek 8) .

Keranu's heckling that year in Team LD's favor was the most hilarious thing I have ever seen, even if we beefed it and lost horribly to some genius kid.

For those interested in seeing me making an ass out of myself during my infamous heckling, download this video and I'll first appear about 20 seconds in (wearing a black flat hat and overshirt) and I yell my heckle around 1:26 into the video. The dude standing to the left of me really got close to me after I yelled that, it was kinda creepy  8-[ .

If you're interested in watching that whole game show, you can find it on the Team Fremont's site here.

HAHA I couldn't make out what you were saying... but it looked to me like the guy to your left started cracking up!!

"This game was made 20 years before you were born!", since I had to distract a kid that must've been like 12. Of course Asteroids was made before I was born too :D .
