I was so disappointed when I clicked on this thread and found a link to MVS cart shells, instead of affordable cart cases. :P

I don't like the idea of taking apart original games to create franken-carts, but if it can be done without damaging the originals, then I guess it would be alright... as long as they are also producing professional quality labels for every game.

But my nice-looking CMVS only shows the top of a cart, so these would be functionally useless.

The whole point of the shell design was so there would be absolutely no confusion between these and any of the so-called 'official' cart designs and therefore no ability to market them in any way, shape, or form as anything other than what they were if you were in the mind to resell them. That being said, if someone were to acquire some of these and shuck the (decidedly unattractive) mvs shells in favor of these and toss the originals in the trash (not saying I would, just tossing about hypotheticals here), then...so what? The actual IMPORTANT part has not been destroyed, the game still works, and life goes on. The only thing harmed here is the artificially inflated collectors market. Win/win :D

I honesty think the whole trend of peacock MVS is bullshit. MVS is professional amusement product and that is nothing to be ashamed of. The cigarette smells and cockroach droppings are badges of honor, proof of decades of quality service, a patina of hardcore SNK quality and provenance.

If you want a shelf of pretty plastic shells buy AES.

So you prefer paying hundreds to thousands for something that looks halfway decent while gaming? So nice that you have so much disposable income that throwing away money in such a fashion is an option for you. Do come stop by my house and stock my shelves with AES carts for me, since they are so easy for you to acquire! While I am (not) holding my breath for such an event to occur, I will continue to support projects such as this kickstarter that propose far more affordable (and sensible) alternatives to bringing the Neo home.

I don't have any AES carts. I have stacks of stinky filthy MVS and I love them. They play the same as they would in those pimped out My Little Pony cases and they usually cost about $10-15 each.

I know not of the Neo Geo world, so I didn't find this thread nearly as amusing as I should have! Damn.
