The cigarette smells and cockroach droppings are badges of honor, proof of decades of quality service, a patina of hardcore SNK quality and provenance.
and rats nests! I'm with you, "gamer" copies is all you need.

So you prefer paying hundreds to thousands for something that looks halfway decent while gaming? [start of some rant...]
Hey now, this is not a N-G thread! PCFXers do not get in a tizzy over stuff like this, especially since it's not even obey!

I do find it a bit funny that "Omega" is attempting to release these carts since they made the wooden cMVS. It's more marketing and money making for them. At least some ppl in the N-G community is actually DOING something rather than shelve old [complete] carts and bitch about creases.

Sorry for the rant guys, I just prefer my gamer area to look nice and presentable since my neo is centered under my tv and not hidden away inside a dark cab. Also, for the record, Analogue Interactive made the wooden cmvs (which, in my opinion is hideous and looks like furniture)...different manufacturer/company from the Omega stuff.

I honesty think the whole trend of peacock MVS is bullshit. MVS is professional amusement product and that is nothing to be ashamed of. The cigarette smells and cockroach droppings are badges of honor, proof of decades of quality service, a patina of hardcore SNK quality and provenance.

If you want a shelf of pretty plastic shells buy AES.

So you prefer paying hundreds to thousands for something that looks halfway decent while gaming? So nice that you have so much disposable income that throwing away money in such a fashion is an option for you. Do come stop by my house and stock my shelves with AES carts for me, since they are so easy for you to acquire! While I am (not) holding my breath for such an event to occur, I will continue to support projects such as this kickstarter that propose far more affordable (and sensible) alternatives to bringing the Neo home.

He was actually advocating the most affordable option. You are the one suggesting to spend hundreds of dollars to upgrade an MVS collection to the exact same MVS collection, instead of spending that money on more games. Are you going to visit Zeta's home and re-shell all of his MVS carts for him, since you have so much disposable income? If someone wants to buy these shells, or collect AES, or just emulate, so be it. But this is just dumping cash on pimping out existing games, which I'm all for (if someone else really wants to). But it's wasted on many CMVS setups.

*shrugs* I said my piece and apologized for my rant. For what it's worth, I dig them. I just don't think the ks will come to fruition at this point...just not enough supporters, sadly.

Your right, I just saw the pic of the Omega Entertainment Machine and flipped flopped my companies. I'm not a cMVS kinda guy since I gots 'da room for "dark cabs" :)

Even without a 100% funding, can the group make a small batch for N-G folks like the shock boxes? Or do you think they are looking to make bank on this?

We have been chatting with shadowkn (the originator of the design, and the man behind the Omega) and it looks like if the kickstarter, ahem, kicks the bucket then he is going to let it go for the time being. From the sounds of things, he is essentially using the KS as a gauge of community interest behind the project...no KS backing = not enough actual demand for the product.
