Araiguma Rascal
« on: May 16, 2013, 07:59:07 AM »
So I've been in a puzzle kick lately and discovered this crazy game by one of my favorite dev's, Masaya.

Have you all tried this one? Tips, things to look for, etc are always welcomed.

I've recently become a huge fan of the book and the anime. I don't have the SFC game but I'm totally getting it even if it sucks because I love that little sunuvabitch racoon.

Yeah, for some reason it never aired in the US.

We had tons of anime shit on the tv, but mostly the harmless stuff only like flanders no inu, pinocchio, ohayou spank, etc.
But what we didn't had, our french neighbors sure had
DB, ranma, maison, lum, city hunter, hokuto, kimengumi, orange road, saint seya, dr. Slump, and so on :)

Rascal was shown in several languages. I think it was dubbed into French, German, and Spanish. It was never localized for North American though, which is too bad since it takes place here, the book was written here, we actually have raccoons, etc.

Yeah, that sucks, considering its origin.

The wiki on it has some awesome links.

What was the name of the anime with the two bears?  A brown and white one I think.

I actually picked up a copy of this maybe 6 months ago based on a discussion on DigitalPress but haven't played it since I don't always have a SNES out.  I love puzzle games and this one was pretty well received I guess.  I found an article that was really balanced and still praising it so figured it was worth a try, we see how far that got me.

Word to the wise though, if you want it don't buy it from ebay.  I picked mine up complete in great shape from through a proxy at about 1500Y.
