Watched some of the game trailers and really didnt see anything that likely couldn't be done on the PS3. You guys enjoy your shiny new systems that'll likely break after a year or so. I'll stick to gaming on old reliable and friends. PCE, Neo Geo, Genesis, and NES. Goodnight y'all!

Graphically, it won't be a leap like before. Nothing will, but things will look sharper for sure. The Bungie game looks cool, but that's about it. I didn't see a game that made me go, WOW I WANT THAT!

Yes I know Nintendo is doing a Nintendo Direct but to say they won't be at E3 is a lie. Everyone is awaiting Nintendos Direct this morning. It will be a huge event during E3 week.

Compare Perfect Dark Zero, a launch game of the current gen, to Halo 4.  Graphics of launch games never improve as much over the previous system, but they definitely figure out the new systems as time passes.

Pretty much this. I remember trying that Perfect Dark game some year back at a friends house after pestering him about it...and I remember it looked decidedly "meh". Not bad, just...not so hot.

Now, Halo 4 on the other hand, I find can be downright gorgeous at times. Oh, and blue skies in games and all that
So, more interested in what the future will bring than what's on the table now.

Exactly my point, where is the innovation? In every past generation you had something to differentiate from the previous one (16bit graphics, 3D graphics, better 3D graphics, HD and motion controllers).

We're reaching a point with graphics - what else can you do? more bloom? The shit already looks practically real on the current gen. Not like 4K TV's are going to be widespread very soon either.

I think that $100 price difference is the real killer here - nothing I've seen on XBone is remotely worth $100 extra bucks, and paying for XBox Live Gold is horseshit. MS is going to have to cut their price early in the game to compete.

I really don't think the DRM/always-online crap is going to matter as much to the general COD-and-Madden buying public. Plus if it's a software/firmware related issue it's probably easy enough for MS to issue and update and sweep it under the rug.

Should be an interesting console war.

You would be surprised. The fanbase for COD on PC is basically on par with the console fanbase and people were pretty pissed when they swapped over to Steam and more anal DRM after World at War. It pretty much killed use game sales for the PC versions of Black Ops and Modern Warfare. I am sure it will have a impact on the console side as well. Plus, people don't like having to jump through hoops to sell their used games. People like being able to sell them on ebay or Craigslist or to friends. Xbox One is not going to be friendly towards that. All the negatives will add up.
