i am sad that the panzer dragoon "sequel" and KI3 are exclusive, but hey, they can always try the bioshock route and come out later on ps4.

After preordering a PS4 and thinking about things, I am on the cusp of cancelling the Xbox One preorder I made.

I was kinda excited that there is a special Xobx One Day One Edition and I was bu,,ed PS4 didn't do something similar.  The I thought about it a little more, and the collectible aspect of the Xbox One special edition is really questionable.  In 15 years who is going to care about a special controller, when it is useless because all the games are shut off?  Essentially, there is no real value to the system, as it will eventually just be a useless hunk of plastic.

I guess MS has a few months to persuade me to keep my order in.

Or it might make unopen Xbox one games ultra rare and highly collectible and the need to store them in ultra rarez plastic cases and put them on ebay for $500, 000 a game as such is in itself worth the buying of such console lol.

Apparently the PS4 is setup to lock out used games the same as the Xbox One. Sony is only saying that for now, they are opting not to lock out their own first party games. If a third party chooses, they might lock out used games but not sell/transfer user licenses, which would make it even worse than Xbox One for used gsmes.

Sony just seems to be letting Microsoft announce plans first, then choose to just not be as bad for various aspects. But the PS3/360 generation was already bad enough with games shipping unfinished and just patched up down the road (requiring an internet connection and often mandatory harddrive installs). These aren't really consoles anymore, just media boxes.

It's sad to see Microsoft go this route, effectively shutting down a huge avenue of gaming for a lot of us.  This launch is akin to the Saturn Launch, more money, arrogance, just going to ruin it's name in gaming.  Sony doesn't need to sell once piece of hardware to make a profit, and I mean not one tv, stereo, anything.  They make the bulk of their income from Life Insurance in Japan.

I fear Sony might take Liberties with their content now since Microsoft has gone so far right with their policy's giving Sony a wide berth to move.  The only choice left now is SONY and Nintendo, and you are either a Nintendo Fan Boy or your not.

As announced last night, PS4 will not have any gating restrictions for used disc-based games. When a gamer buys a PS4 disc they have right to use that copy of the game, so they can trade-in the game at retail, sell it to another person, lend it to a friend, or keep it forever.""

He seems categorically saying that the offline play on *DISC*-based games won't have restrictions.  Developers can have an online-pass system for PS4 like they had for some PS3/360 games or adopt another system. 

I guess we'll see.

Online passes have gone but I did here talk that 3rd party developers could block online play and charge you no idea how that will work tho.

Game spot are asking developers if they don't mind second hand games, and all of them are saying they think its fine to trade games, but they seem to get a bit sketchy when it comes to online play.
