The Wonderful 101
« on: August 20, 2013, 08:21:02 PM »
The game drops in less than a month for the Wii U. It is developed by platinum games and is a action title. Currently there is a demo on the Wii U eshop that has a small portion of the story mode, and some missions to play. If you are a fan of platinum games, and also enjoyed viewtiful joe, i think this game is right up your ally. I'm really excited for it, and have played through the demo multiple times. Also, I have been keeping up with the offical blog which has discussed game mechanics in depth, and each of the wonder 100 playable characters.

Heres some links for you guys

http://platinumgames.com/games/the-wonderful-101/ - read the blog, view videos and pictures
- gamestop UK video review
- breakdown of the demo
- Nintendo direct wonderful 101

Any of you guys as excited as me for this game ?

Games I Need: Bonk 3 (HuCard), Legend of Hero Tonma, Magical Chase, Soldier Blade, Super Air Zonk.

Got one to sell? PM me!

I tried the demo. It was tricky at first, but then I started to understand it more.Great game, too bad the Europeans have it now. :(

Oh well, I can get Splinter Cell then.

Isn't kind of like Pikmin with Super Heroes?

Completely different. Have you tried the demo? Great fun.

Your army moves as one. While Pikmin is an RTS with puzzle elements, W101 is a beat em up, and instead of launching tiny Pikmin, you draw shapes on the gamepad (or use the control stick) to transform your heroes in Unite Morphs.

Be warned though, controls are a little tough to get used to at first, but then they become 2nd nature.

Nope, just judging from gameplay videos and screenshots.  Sounds cool- if I ever get the U I'll check it out.  :)

So i found some amazing videos of youtuber Saur breaking down the system of "The Wonderful 101" There are so many mechanics in this game my head may explode from excitement.

Also here is a interview Kamiya did about the game, and about review scores, and how they really aren't important.... its pretty awesome
