Hudson Selection Vol.3 PS2
« on: March 30, 2014, 10:26:12 AM »
I am sure some of you have heard of this, but how many of you have actually played it?  PC Genjin aka Bonk for the PS2 looks amazing, and surprisingly, they kept the sound pretty much the same.  I loaded it up onto my HD for play in my PS2 earlier, and was really surprised by how good it actually was.  Here is some video of it, not me playing of course, but gives you an idea.

How many of these Hudson Volumes did they release?  I may hunt more of em down.

Fun Fact:

Bomberman Hero on N64 was originally a 3D Bonk game.

Regardless, it still would have been crap.

I have the GameCube version of this Bernie. I think PA2 and GameCube versions are identical.

I dig it, but I didn't unlock the videos or bonus stuff? I played halfway through it.

No way! The aesthetic is a neat twist for a retro game. The award for "ugliest bonk" goes to the unreleased Bonk from a few years ago...it was download only(?) for PS3, WiiWare, etc. ?

My understanding is that the load times are better on the GC version, otherwise they're identical.

Agreed. It's bad. Looks like someone went overboard with the Photoshop apply texture.  That and the graphics don't match each other. Some are pseudo 3D like the smilies you collect, and then in the menu bar at the top the Smiley counter is a 2d hand drown icon, while the background is suppose to look like one of those cloth type games?

It looks like many college project we did where everyone worked on there own parts then when we brought it together at the last minute nothing really matched, but at least we had something to turn in.

Bonk turns into a monkey when eating meat?  I'm lost on this part. Do monkey's eat meat?  The boss actually looks pretty cool, but why does he throw Lollipops when he gets hit?

I've got it on GameCube as well. I also have the Adventure Island and Star Soldier remakes. All three are pretty entertaining. I wish they would've gotten a US release.
Games I Need: Bonk 3 (HuCard), Legend of Hero Tonma, Magical Chase, Soldier Blade, Super Air Zonk.

Got one to sell? PM me!

Send me the Star Soldier remake. Thank you.

Throw in Adventure Island for fun.
