is this scanline generator good?
« on: August 10, 2014, 03:14:11 PM »
is this scanline generator good? has anyone used it? seems to no psu need as well? vga in and vga out, so it's seems usable for wii, ps2, dreamcast, x360 and ps3 ( great for the those classic ps1 2d games), thx

I already have xrgb 2 plus, but it's in storage as I have kids and had to compromise on too many game related boxes, but this seems small discreet and no need for psu, seem perfect

If you're referring to this thing:

http://craftymech.com/mini-slg/

Then yes it actually works quite good!

Beemer - do you have one of these? This would be great for my MAME cab - I run a 1024x768 LCD currently using MameUI's built-in scanline emulation to kind of ape the scanline look but it's nowhere near perfect...this might be a cheap fix.

the craftymech adaptor is perfect if you run 640x480 or 1024x768 resolutions

any other resolution results may vary (800x600 scanlines aren't spaced properly)

I use a mini SLG on a arcade cab, it does what it says. I'm using it in conjunction with a GBS 8200 CGA->VGA encoder. The mini is butt simple, no config or tweaks. It's small and does not need additional power.
