This year didn't have that many really good games. Here's one a lot of people haven't played.

Definitely my GOTY for 2014. And it's a f*cking iPhone game.

If you like Portal or Journey, you have to check this out.

I enjoyed the original so much I bought the DLC extra levels and then the "RED" fundraiser for charity thing.

ALL OF THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL, the nuances, the atmosphere that this game exudes just makes me want to hug the folks who made it.

This is a puzzle game that stands out because it has such a CHARMING WORLD...you really do feel like you have been transported to a special, mystical alternate universe.

It is a puzzle game, but the challenge is on the easy-average side (nothing to make you cry or throw your phone....sure, a few things stumped me temporarily, but overall it was easy).

The thing is, even though the puzzles were not ridiculously challenging, they *were* insanely FUN and ENJOYABLE. The entire experience playing this game is simply a joy.

I listened to the lead developer discuss this game on a podcast (Inquisitive with Mike Hurley) and it was fascinating to hear about how the company was taking a gamble with this sort of game (it was not "free-to-play + monetization strategies", it was simply "buy the game"...and the company didn't know if enough people would be interested in buying a game like Monument Valley)

Just buy it. I will refund you (no joke) if you don't like it. Seriously.

Esteban, do you know if the Red level is still available? Apparently you could only get it until December 8.

I believe you are correct—limited time for the fundraiser.

A female character who is not allowed speak, is referred to in the video as "princess", and is forced to wear a dunce cap while she fumbles her way around multiple puzzles. Clearly this game is filled to the brim with sexist oppression. Count me in! :)

Hahahahahshashs. She is atoning for her sins in the game (no joke) ....the little bit of story we get is all about her righting the wrongs she committed in her past.

:)
