What, did the 4 of you subscribe to Atlus' game of the month club, or something?

Cosmo Tank is a pretty cool lil' game with decent music and fun NES-era gameplay.

I sadly do not have Cosmo Tank.

I lieu of CT, I will play Balloonage Fightage.

Balloon Kid is an amazing underrated gem on the Game Boy.

I can't wait to play. Been a while since I was shown a new, good Game Boy game.

I didn't order it because of the timeline thread - I already had it (and still have it) before  :).

You've probably seen this twice then, but here are potentially more: http://www.chrismcovell.com/gbgems.html

I received my copy of Cosmo Tank a few days ago and finally had some time to play it.  So far, it is pretty entertaining.  The graphics are pretty impressive for a GB game and the tunes are catchy.  The control in overhead mode seems a bit delayed but I'm sure they are in a real life tank as well.  So far I only have two major gripes.  The short weapon range is aggravating considering the amount and speed of enemies they throw at you in the overhead and shooty parts.  Also, the enemy and boss fights in "first person" mode are a bit wonky and feel too much like playing Top Gun on the NES.

Overall it has been an enjoyable experience so far and you can't beat the price this game sells for.  I'll update more as I progress through the game.

Many thanks to Necro for the inspiration to pick this title up.

Sorry for OT but I was wondering, is that a gameboy light or is that a gbc frontlight mod? If it's a mod what method did you use ? I've been looking into frontlighting a gbc recently

It's a Kitsch-Bent electro - luminescent backlight.  It is a great kit but causes some electronic interference with the speaker so there's always a high pitched noise when powered on.  These kits as well as the LED backlight kits are only used for original gameboys.  A GBC must be frontlit.  You can rob a frontlight from certain GB Advance SP models or there are some places that offer GBC frontlight kits.

I was hoping you had a frontlight mod so I could ask about the process and quality. I've been considering doing the kitsch-bent frontlight with LOCA but so far I've seen mixed results. I'm going to try a cheaper brand of LOCA. I just need a cheap gbc because I don't want to ruin my original ones

I also got this game in the other day, and played a bit of it last night. I figured I'd give my initial impression, though what really stood out was the 3D and wonky controls. I would complain about the controls more, but with free life refills, it's hard to do so. I just need to play it more, which I will.

I've heard good stuff about K-B, I know PunkiCyborg did a couple of their backlight mods on his gameboys and was pleased with the results.
