Those controllers have certainly increased in value recently.
Back in 2002 after the NUON platform imploded and died off, there was an online store (dvdinternational I think?) that was selling controllers and games off for like $10 a piece.  I stocked up on several, but eventually ended up ebaying them a few years later.

Well, it's here if anyone is in need of it, my samsung player stopped reading discs, so I gave up on the whole mess, shame it was a novel idea, poor ass execution though.

Yep, it  does some interesting homebrew last time I checked too...
