I know this thread's supposed to be a pisstake of the Master System thread, but I'll answer it seriously anyway.

Yes, the SNES was easily the weakest of the 16-bit machines... but to say it flat out sucks is overstating it. Granted, a lot of the big name titles (and even some of the so-called "hidden gems" like Doremi Fantasy and Actraiser) are overrated tripe, but there's enough gold on the system to make it worthwhile. Even if you don't particularly care for RPGs and adventure games.

Hagane
Wild Guns
Pocky & Rocky
Sutte Hakkun
Umihara Kawase
Magical Pop'n
Ganbare Goemon 2, 3 & 4
The Violinist of Hamelin
Super Gussun Oyoyo 2
Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie
Bio Metal
Super Aleste
Chaos Seed

Notice that only one of those was an RPG.

I love the Donkey Kong Country games.  They get some hate but they are truly fantastic.

Chrono Trigger
Secret of Mana
Actraiser 1-2
Robotrek
Soul Blazer
Illusion of Gaia
Terranigma
Final Fantasy 4-6
Breath of Fire 1 & 2 (even with the horrid translation of 2)
Dragon Quest 5 & 6
Paladins Quest
Lufia 1 & 2
Lagoon
Super Mario RPG
7th Saga
The Legend of Zelda (how could you forget that!) ;)

Lots of great rpgs for the system. Can't say I enjoyed much of any other genre on that system.

Yeah, that's a good list and why I loved the system. Some more I would add:

Super Metroid
Wild Guns (surprisingly fun, glad I ran into imports like this thanks to emulation)
Donkey Kong Country 1-3
Megaman X++
Super Punchout (not as fun as Mike Tyson's, but still fun)

Wild Guns is one of the best rail shooters i've played.I had a friend make a repro of the game for me.Sure,it's not official but the price for a original isn't worth it to me.

Totally agree on Wild Guns. It is one of my top five favorite SNES games. Not many games like it. Nam-1975 is similar, but it's very hard. The only bad thing I will say about Wild Guns is that the controls feel a little awkward. The lasso mechanic doesn't work very well as you have to tap the shoot button to execute it. Sometimes you shoot when you're trying to lasso and vice versa.
SignofZeta: What a quintessentially PCEFX thread. Someone complains about nothing, multiple Bible-length posts discussing who's a bigger a$$hole follow. You're both pretty big a$$holes. Let's call it a tie.

Super Metroid Alone Justifies the system.  Super Contra As well.  I really liked Yoshi's Island as well, so immersive and pretty game.  Who doesn't like F-Zero?  Mario kart as well?

Great system can't really be knocked.

Although there are loads of SNES games I enjoy, I am not a fan of those 2 games (or Yoshi's Island for that matter).

Tengai Makyou Zero alone justifies the system for me.

^this since you cant play it on a flash cart

[Mon 16:27] <BlueBMW> i wouldnt sell an unmolested duo hehe.  I molest the crap outta of em before they leave me

I always get a little bit mad when I remember an expensive game that I used to play back in the day but sold for pennies. But yes, it is one of my favorite games for the system, too bad the price is nuts nowadays (god bless the Everdrive).

Super Punchout (not as fun as Mike Tyson's, but still fun)

This is probably my favorite game on Super Nintendo, personally I think it blends the best of the arcade and NES versions thus making it more enjoyable than the other two.

Another game I like (which is fun with two players) is Disney's Goof Troop. It is short but a good play through!

I've got most of the SNES stuff I want but Goof Troop is one that others have recommended which isn't horribly priced yet.  Will have to snag a copy eventually.

Yea, its definitely cheap still, I paid $8 for a loose copy earlier this year. My biggest complaint is the game isn't hard enough but I guess you need to keep in mind the audience the game was designed for. Either way it is a fun play through especially with another human player

Another game that I enjoy for Super Nintendo is The Firemen (released only in Europe and Japan)
