It is true that this likely drove the price up.  I wanted to make myself a Gimmick for so long but couldn't bring myself to sacrifice a good and harder to find game in order to do it.  Thankfully, there is now another way.  These products are all new so there is no need to sacrifice original games http://www.infiniteneslives.com/nessupplies.php.

If I'm reading that right, you can buy all new parts for about the same cost as destroying a $30 Batman?  Why're peeps not buying new?!?

P.S. - my link works.  :P

Thanks for having a working link.  Not sure why mine is broken.

I actually kinda like Gremlins 2, also.  Wish people wouldn't destroy any games for this purpose, honestly.  I would say sports games maybe but even with those I have a ton of exceptions.

Remember when bunnyboy used to sell new boards and NES cart shells?

I wonder if there's going to be anything similar for the turbo in the future. It's both good and bad depending on how you look at it.

so people kill a perfectly good game like Batman to make cheaper repros to sell in the $60-100 range.

For not much more than that, you could just buy an Everdrive and not have to sac anything.  Playing Gimmick that way is no less "fake" than playing a repro.

Most people are buying the infinite lives board to make gimmick now since batman got pricey. Gremlins 2 sometimes works but its hit or miss if the cart will have the right chip.

Why do people destroy a fine game for a game I haven't even heard of? Go destroy a copy of Golf or Soccer!
The Dreamcast is still alive, so go play it before it kills your family!

Because those games don't have the chips necessary to make Mr. Gimmick

The expanded audio from the JP version is isn't emulated so the audio is wrong. The PAL and 60hz fixed NTSC version has the extra audio completely absent

One of the games that push the Nes limits most is being scavenged ti make Mr Gimmick's repros... until the point where ROTJ becomes an even rarer game.
