Rampart
« on: November 05, 2015, 05:07:09 AM »
Started a game up of Rampart on the SNES. Bad Crack. I'm surprised we didn't see a port of it to the Turbo/PCE since it's ported on almost every other system.. So with that being said, what's everyone's favorite port of Rampart? I personally like the SNES one and the PC port, but haven't played any of the other ports of it yet..

The Konami one on Nes has a bunch of really cool alternate scenarios, that's definitely worth checking out.

I rented the Rampart along with Starfox on a trip with my parents to the beach, wonderful times. I need to pick up the SNES Rampart, I have the nes version.

The snes version wasn't really all that expensive. I paid $8 for it last week and that was on Ebay. More nostalgia than anything for me as I used to play the shit out of that version back in the 90s.

I played the Genesis version a lot in college actually, that game is pretty darn fun.

Holy crap, the Famicom version is completely different than all the other ports. It's like a re-imaging of sorts. Me wants it bad.

Oh hey, I have this game on the Lynx too!  I always liked Rampart.  I thought it was a solid concept for a fun little puzzle game.
Current want list:  TG16 Bomberman 93, SGX 1941

"Ready! Aim! Fire!" I used always play the SNES version and loved it, with 2 players was awesome.

I also vaguely remember playing the arcade version which had a roller ball to control, I googled it and all I could find was this

Yeah they had it at PRGE this year. I was surprised on how many people were playing it. Might even go the extra mile and get the PCM for my super gun..

I would guess the dedicated arcade cabinet with the roller balls would be quite rare, I only ever saw it once in one arcade.

After reading this thread I went and played the SNES version for the first time in years, it's really a great game.

I still play it now and then on my Lynx.  My only gripe, no roller ball controller, the control pad is too slow to move pieces for rebuilding walls.
