I'm satisfied for what's i have in my collection.Still there's all ways a game that i'm missing, which means on the hunt for said game still.Least i have most of what i want for the famicom, pce and neo-geo all ready. For older video games i'm still rebuilding my genesis, snes collection even though i have a everdrive for both.Still i doubt for some games i will ever replace again such as snatcher. The sega-cd version has gotten way to expensive for my taste.Any thing at all i just buy what i want to play, don't care for having every game made for the console.

I don't consider myself a collector. But the games I have amassed over the years is really starting to show.

What I typically do now is I budget myself. I have been fixing and selling the older consoles and any profit from that I put straight back into the games I want. That way I am not spending any of my normal paycheck money on gaming anymore. It was a real struggle for a couple months not being able to buy any games at all for anything.

But if a game comes along on a current console or PC or I missed or want some RPG from one of the older consoles I just have to work harder to get that extra money I need to feed the gamer in me.

I made this decision earlier in 2015 as I spent nearly $15k on computer gear, consoles, games etc. I realized I needed to supplement my gaming habbits as it was costing me to much. I don't consider myself a collector because most of that money was on my computers, server rack, home network etc, and I was just updating them with current hardware.

Great advice.  I got started about a year ago and was totally ignorant to the hobby of collecting and the retro communities that exist.  I started just wanting to get back the games and consoles I traded away as a kid.  I quickly got addicted after accomplishing that goal.  I just recently realized a complete or almost complete NES collection isn't worth it.  I've got the money to acquire more but I'm going to concentrate more on getting titles for other consoles.  Having a budget is a big key.

Im fairly happy this time around with my game library.  I only pick up what I know I will play now, making my list easier to narrow down.  Gonna take the PC-FX plunge this year sometime, as there are a small handful of titles I want for it.  Lately I have been focusing on Super Famicom in between handling the repros with the team.  Thanks to Mathius for that piece of hardware!!!

The only FX game I'd like is the ghost and goblins.

Actually completely forgot I had the complete set of PC-FX games as well. To be honest I don't miss it, the only three games I liked were Zeroigar, Zenki and Chip Chan Kick. In fact Chip Chan Kick was really good, I think it deserves more recognition. I've heard Power Dolls FX is a decent strategy game, I'd planned t play that next but ended up just selling the lot.
Before anyone says well why the f*ck did you collect the complete set, well I was learning Japanese at the time and I planned to play though the games as I learnt the language and then be able to appreciate them.

I got a PCFX back in the late 90's at some point because I became obsessed with Battle Heat clips I was watching from some website.  Just seemed like an awesome concept, a fully animated FMV fighting game.  In retrospect, I still think it looks and sounds really cool, but the gameplay isn't what I had hoped for back then.  I still have it, but I never expanded on my FX library.   I always wanted the Tengai Makyou FMV fighter, and my friends and I had a strange draw towards Team Innocent.  I would like to get both one day, no hurry though.  Zeroigar, Zenki FX and Chip Chan Kick would be awesome too, even though the first two are really pricey so I don't expect that to happen for a while.  The rest of the games on the system seemed to be girly dating sims/digital comics, which don't interest me too much.  Actually I really like digital comics, just not the moe girly ones.  I can't think of any serious/science fiction/horror ones on the system off the top of my head though.

im very happy and proud of my collection and how far its come in the 11 years ive been collecting.......buuut it would be nice to add more games in the collection. I used to collect pretty much anything and everything gaming related but realized i was collecting way too much and got rid of a lot of the games and systems i didnt play anymore. i only buy games i like. I've definitely slowed down the purchases by a lot as of late due to space and just to be able to catch up on the games i have now. i really enjoy my collection since its full of systems and games that i enjoy or grew up with.

I'd kinda like to get a complete PC-FX set, but mostly because I picked up those three and a bunch of less pricey titles for cheap.  The games I already own are probably 80% of the library in terms of cost, so why not?

Yes, I'm retarded.

I'm happy with the games I own. About a year ago,  I sold a lot of games to help pay bills. Fortunately I avoided the drama that we saw play out here.

I really should part with more of it thanks to everdrives and cdrs.

I'm happy with my collection because I love the PCE and am happy to have a large amount of games.. however, for someone who got a turbo in '91 and PCE games staring in '92, I feel like I should have more when compared to those who just discovered the PCE like 1 year or 2 ago and have like 100+ games. There's still many key-titles I'm missing too.

I'm a little bit in the same boat.  I used to have a lot of key titles in my original set from the 90's that are now a little harder to get.  I kept most of my imports but stupidly traded in many of my TG-16 games in 95'.  But even now I'm not going to dump a ton of money into reacquiring them.  Besides, half the fun is in finding a good deal when they come up.

Always nice to find a cart you don't have in the wild.  Especially when you don't expect to find it.  I don't like what is happening to the scene in terms of pricing and rampant fraud so I am not as crazy a collector as I used to be.
