PC-FX games across multiple platforms (comparisons)
« on: February 03, 2017, 03:03:39 AM »
Obviously we have a fairly small library to dig through, and I searched albeit briefly here to see if this was discussed prior, however, came up with no results, but - Do we have a list of PC-FX games that came out across multiple platforms?  I know of the following:

Zenki (also released on SFC as Kishin Douji Zenki)
Der Langrisser FX (also released on Sega Saturn as Langrisser Dramatic)

Found this:

Perhaps these aren't exactly direct ports even, but do we know of other games that could be considered ports either to or from PCFX?

Zenki on SFC is totally different.

There is an RPG, Blue...something, which is also on PlayStation.

There's Galaxy Fraulein Yuna 3 on both Saturn and PS1, but I'm not sure if they're the same game as Galaxy Fraulein Yuna FX.
There's three SF Zenki games and one for GG, but I don't know if any of 'em are direct ports of Kishin Doji Zenki: Vajura Fight.
Lunatic Dawn is also on FM Towns and PC-98.
Mahjong Gokuu Tenjiku is also on SF, 3DO, Saturn, and PS1.
There's Power Dolls and Power Dolls 2 on PC-98 and FM Towns, but I don't know how they relate to Power Dolls FX.
Return to Zork is also on PC, FM Towns, Saturn, and PS1.
Super Real Majhong PV is also on PCE, SF, 3DO, and Saturn.
There's Tenchi Muyo games on PCE, SF, and PS1, and four on Saturn, but I don't know if any are the same as Tenchi Muyo FX.

They're not, Yuna 3 is more of a strategy RPG as opposed to the PCE and PC-FX games which are visual novels, also it takes place after the 2nd anime OVA, which was a sequel to the first OVA, which was an adaptation of the PC-FX game, so I don't think we should count Yuna FX as a multi-platform game...

I was also under the impression that the PC-FX had a version of Steam Hearts, but I looked it up and apparently it doesn't...

Yeah, Yuna 3 was actually good so god forbid they released it for the FX.

Power Dolls is based on the PC version. In the same way that a lot of computer games like Advanced VG would be heavily censored when made for PCE but also so greatly expanded upon that there is no question as to which is better. I think that's what happened here.

Tenchi Muyo is not related to any other game in the franchise. Most similar to PCE game but not a port.

It's amazing how many games there were when you look at Necro's list...and even more amazing that with that many multi platform games there still isn't anything worth serious play accept Langrisser, I guess. That's more multi platform software than the Jag has, and some of its games are actually OK like Rayman or Tempest 2000.

Poor FX...

I kinda wish it was on the PC-FX though, but by the time it got released the system was already dead...

Boundary Gate is on Playstation also.

Also, Ah My Goddess on PC-FX isn't really a fantastic update, as the art is basically yoinked with no real update.
