Time for a new Saturn
« on: December 25, 2006, 06:53:56 AM »
So I gave my first model US saturn to my nephew for Xmas, along with Saturn Bomberman. (which he used to be nuts about... not sure anymore.)

Thusly, I need a new Saturn. I've been thinking of getting one of those 3rd party Japanese models (the hi-saturn or the V-saturn) - do you think they're worth it?

regardless, when i get one, i hope to get it in box at least. Any suggestions (other than ebay) of where to get one?

I suggest getting one from your nephew.  Surely he will be selling one soon.

Yeah, eBay. They're virtually giving Saturn stuff away on eBay.

As for variations, I think it was the Hi Saturn that came with the VCD card built in. Not too useful these days, but supossedly its the best quality VCD card for Saturn, and only came with the Hi Saturn. Other than that these "3rd party" Saturns (not really a good term for them, IMO) are the same as the white Saturn, US 2nd model black Saturns, etc. They aren't really worth any more or less than other versions of the system, and as such they don't cost any more.

I'd go with the white one, which is the coolest one anyway unless you have the scratch for a Navi, and even then...I think the white one is cooler. I mean, what I'm I going to do with massively outdated GPS software that only works in Japan?

Ive been thinking about selling my Saturn. Its an oval button US model, with region select switch on the front. Ive also got the Sega brand VCD card complete in box. I used to use it a lot a few years ago to play VCDs. Never really did collect any games, just have Astal, House of the Dead and D.

I'd probably be interested in the VCD card. Let me know.
