That's the way it should be done with modem gaming.  No servers to cause extra lag.  Plus that means you can still play online with your Saturn today.

Thats what I love about the Netlink. The DC's modem is useless for multiplayer now(does it system link?), but the Saturn's still as useful as it ever was(still useless to the average gamer).

Man I need to get a Saturn Netlink.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Wow that's rad, so you can still play Virtual On against people through the netlink?

Yeah, you certainly can.

Even though, it's been a good 6-7 years since I had my Netlink + Virtual On (and Sega Rally Championship), I've yet to play anyone over netlink.  I connected to the web once with it, but the browser was slow and outdated even back in '00.

Nevertheless, it still CAN be used, which is great.

But even for the DC, I've read that people have written codes/set up personal networks to make games like Phantasy Star Online and Virtual On still playable over the network.

I can still use the Dreamcast Broadband Adapter to surf for porn and make idiotic posts on forums like this one.

It was pretty good at the begining, but towards the end surfing the web with it suck becuse of flash animation and stuff.

Playing games on it was pretty kewl as well even if did suffer lagg.

I think the most i'd play on it was duke nukem 3d.

Miss playing the damn thing but i couldn't put up with... the phone bills not to mention i don't have dailup any more  :P

Someone told me that it does system link if you just tell both systems to dial zero, or something like that. I forgot the details. I should try this since I have two Saturns and Two Netlinks, but I don't think I have two copies of the same NetLink compatible game. Futhermore one of my Netlinks is the grey Japanese one with the card slot, and the other is the US one so its likely that even if I a copied a Netlink game I have it might not recognize the modem. I'm not sure how much different the modems are, but the case is totally different, the JP ones has a slot for Xband cards, and I'm pretty sure the US one is 28.8 and the JP one is 14.4.

Now that I think of it I'm pretty sure my girlfriend has a complete selection of US Netlink stuff.

Then there is the trouble of getting the Saturn POS cart slot to actually work...

Push it all the way in, then pull it up a little bit.  That method never fails.

I think the US Saturn's Netlink was a blazing 33.6.

But if Nostradamus had named the Nintendo Wii and described the launch accurately but said the system would be black, would that have canceled out the actually significant prediction?

The black looks better than white on the Wii - any electronics in white make me think of macs.  Damn apple is trying to take of the electronics world; now they're building phones!  I'm no fan of style over substance and usability.

My dad hates black appliances and electronics for some reason...saying there is no reason to have them like that but I really think that black appliances and electronics, especially the Wii here look nice and slick.

I hope the black Wii gets put out on U.S. market soon.  I'd love to have one. :D

Sorry, but I don't see your library card on the books of Ys.  Now, RETURN THEM TO ME!!!

Black is cool as long as its that flat black like in the PStwo or Genesis systems, that glossy black on the PS3 looks like total shit and gets scratches/smudges on it if you even so much as think about touching it.
