EDIT: I know Compile also did R-Type for the SMS. But I am curious about SMS Power Strike. The title screen says "Compile" but then underneath it says "Reprogrammed by Sega" even though that game and R-Type share a few sound effects. So who did the actual programming?
Probably reprogrammed a bit here and there by Sega because the SMS didn't have the FM unit of the MarkIII version. But really the whole was programmed by Compile.
What other games did Compile make besides Golvellius?
I know that after the MSX had stop being supported, Compile continued their monthly releases of Disc Station on the NEC PC-98 and then to Windows 95. Those Disc Stations gave rise to their on going series of RPGs like Geo Conflict, Devil Force, Genseikitan Disc Saga, and Wander Wonder.
They developed a lot games most of which aren't shooters. On PC-Engine they developed Cyber Knight, Devil's Crash, Alien Crush, and Xevious. On the famicom they did Romancia, City Adventure Touch - Mystery of Triangle, and Taiyou no Shinden - Asteka 2. On the Snes, Jaki Crush, and on the MegaCD they made the best version of Shadowrun (too bad it's in japanese).
