PC-Engine: HuVideo - Can an old 8bit processor handle passable FMV?  Oh yes it can.  Oh yes it can.  I am simply impressed the PC-Engine can do this at all.

How sad - your favorite PCE game isn't even a game; you didn't even pick one of the games that features HuVideo.  If it wasn't for your appreciation of the FX, I'd be clamoring for your immediate banishment.  :P

I thought I'd come out of the woodwork and share my thoughts. As with everyones list mine'll change over time, heck I remember looking back at a top 10 games list I posted in on another forum way back in 2005 and laughing at some of the games I thought were the best. Ok 3-4 games per console.

NES: Kirby's Adventure, Startropics, Megaman 1, Street gangs aka River City Ransom

SMS: Alex Kidd in a Miracle world (fav game of all time btw), Bubble Bobble, Master of Darkness, Sonic 1

Mega Drive: Sonic 2, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (leave me alone it has a kick ass multiplayer mode)

Mega CD: Sonic CD, Snatcher oh and Night Trap  8)

PCE: Gunhed, Volified, Street Fighter 2' CE, Download (This will change once I get a CD-ROM2 unit)

SNES: Sim CIty, Super mario world, Super Bomberman, F-Zero

Saturn: Super Puzzle Fighter 2, ClockWork Night, BUG!, Virtual On

PS1: FF7, Star Ocean 2, Tomb Raider 2, Croc

N64: Super Smash Bros, F-Zero X, Zelda OoT

Dreamcast: Carrier, Sonic Adventure 2, Freestyle Scooter, Shenmue

PS2: Shadow of the Colossus, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Beyond Good and Evil

Gamecube: Ikaruga (I suck at the DC version for some reason but not the GC one) Zelda 4 swords, Resident Evil Remake, Paper Mario the Thousand year door.

GB: FF Legend 2, Pokemon Blue, Kirby's Dream Land

GBA: Golden Sun (2nd Fav game of all time), Konami Krazy Racers, Advance Wars, Monster Rancher Advance 2

DS: Pheonix Wright (all of them), Mario Kart DS

GG: Baku Baku....actually just Baku baku, first JP import game I ever bought

PSP: Crisis Core FF7, Loco Roco, Valkyrie Profile Lennith, Legend of Heroes

Hmmmmm I've missed off consoles where I've only played like 1 game on them ala the Wonderswan

lol, I haven't honestly played enough PC-E games to really say which is my favorite yet.  I am too focused on the FX.
I do like FMV though, and HuVideo kicks SegaCD's video out of the water.  I stand firmly by my HuVideo and I dare you to find another console with an 8 bit processor which can out do it.

Wii: Super Mario Sunshine

Sorry, but that game sucks just as much when you play it on the Wii as it does when you play it on the Gamecube, maybe even more since you have to navigate through the lame Wii menu with the WiiMote to start it before you can even use the Gamecube controller

Well, I think there may be some difficulty within this, but I will consider one game from  the consoles I've played with before, not necessarily own, and from emulation, as well. Indications will give as such to circumstances for each:

Arcade: Pac-Man*
Atari 2600: Sky Jinx*
NES: Mega Man 2*
TurboGrafx-16: Lords of Thunder*
Sega Genesis: Mega Bomberman
Game Boy: Kirby's Dreamland
Super Nintendo: Donkey Kong Country 2
PlayStation: Spyro: Year of the Dragon
Nintendo 64: Super Smash Bros.
Game Boy Color: Pokemon Gold Version
Dreamcast: Marvel vs. Capcom 2
PlayStation 2: Ratchet and Clank
GameCube: Super Smash Bros. Melee
Game Boy Advance: Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
Nintendo DS: Custom Robo Arena
Nintendo Wii: Trauma Center: New Blood

Game Consoles that are in red indicate consoles I do not own. Games accompanied by asterisks indicate those I've played only in emulation. Consoles written in blue are ones that I no longer have (I still miss my Sega Genesis; where could it be ). Entries in this list are subject to change.

It's really hard to pick just one game from each system, so I limited myself to a maximum of three for each . Based mostly on hours spent playing. This is just for systems I own, obviously. List is subject to change at any second...

Atari 2600: Combat, Berserk, Pitfall

Colecovision: Bump 'n Jump, Congo Bongo, Burger Time

C64: Bruce Lee, Gyruss, Conan

NES: SMB3, Bionic Commando, Bubble Bobble

Gameboy/Gameboy Color: Tetris, Tennis, Bionic Commando: Elite Forces

TG16 (HuCard): Blazing Lazers, Parasol Stars, Military Madness
TG16 (CD): Ys I+II, Cosmic Fantasy 2, TurboDuo 4-in-1
PC Engine (HuCard): (Haven't played enough yet to make an informed decision.)
PC Engine (CD): Rainbow Islands, Nexzr, Pro Yakyuu

Sega Genesis: Gunstar Heroes, Sonic 2, Star Control II
Sega CD: Snatcher, Heart of the Alien, Lunar

SNES: Earthbound, Super Mario World, SMW2: Yoshi's Island

Arcade (older): Rastan, Ms. Pac-Man, Spy Hunter (with the sit-down cabinet)
Arcade (newer): Pang x3, Raiden, Metal Slug

Atari Jaguar: Tempest 2000 (only game I own for it  :|)

N64: Super Mario 64, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Smash Bros.

Sega Saturn: Die Hard Arcade, NiGHTS into Dreams

Playstation: Castlevania: SotN, Azure Dreams, Street Fighter Alpha 3

Sega Dreamcast: MDK2, Tennis 2K2, Rez

DOS/Windows: Doom II, Wing Commander, Under a Killing Moon

Post-millennial consoles don't interest me, apart from handhelds - and even so, not enough to buy one. I just don't play "on the go" enough. I have a GBA SP, but only because I found it cheap at a thrift store. My favorite game for it so far? Capcom Classics Mini Mix with - surprise! - Bionic Commando!  O:) I'm constantly debating whether or not to get a DS just for New SMB and Super Princess Peach....

Turbostar, nice list (6 months ago ).  I'm a big Order of the Griffon fan and I've been meaning to check out Warriors of the Eternal Sun.  EDIT:  How's SNES Eye of the Beholder?

Also props to everyone else who put an Ultima console port on their lists!

I like a lot of old games with levels of depth and interaction that were unusual in their genres.

NES - Ultima Avatar, Metal Gear, River City Ransom.

SMS - I love the library as a whole but I was too old when I got this system (12yrs) for any one title to work its way into my heart :p.  Y's was great and I have been known to play a lot of Time Soldiers and Miracle Warriors.

TG16/PCE - SUPER RAIDEN!  Endless power-ups and music that kicks an unbelievable amount of ass.  Get some.

Wow, you guys have some massive lists!  I'll keep mine simple, most of these are the series of a particular game:

Contra
Castlevania
Street Fighter II
Blaster Master
Zelda
Mega Man
Metroid
Mario
Simcity
Gran Turismo
Star Soldier
Lords and Gate of Thunder
Final Fantasy
Phantasy Star
Sonic
Enduro for the 2600 (with the Genesis arcade stick of course)

I could go on and on..
