Looks good, man.
They look like the sort of quality work D-Lite would do! Good job!
LOL,actually Dean uses cases from PacTec,but he uses a different size type, much smaller, and he only uses a larger one for his full on expensive models. I actually had a person who was purchasing a Time Killers board from me once off ebay inform me they were having Dean build them the larger "Bazooka" model.
Dean was using all sorts of junk in it,NeoBitz encoder, which is known for having multiple problems with non-CPS and SNK type boards, stuff like MK and Primal Rage,Time Killers, ect, a power supply that was having issues with the encoder, causing problems with video out on Atomaswave I think it was. It was funny cause the whole time Dean was telling this guy what he was using was "
the best parts possible" Dean had a thread going about the issues he was having using those parts in conjunction and the visual problems that were being caused. After pointing the guy to the thread and junk he seemed a tad unhappy, had me make a run down of cost of parts, what encoder should be used, ect ect.
It ended up really pissing Dean off.I could tell from emails being forwarded to me. He had to yank out the encoder and replace it with a Jrok, and some other things. The 20mm fan he was using in the unit, its useless too. The guy was wondering why Dean was using such a tiny fan too. No venting and a 20mm fan will do no good pulling heat off of a heavy duty power supply. This is why I use 80mm and provide venting. Anyway I gave the guy a run down of what Dean should change.
It upset Dean I was informed, but he did it anyway as the customer requested it. I'm not positive but I got the impression the guy was making Dean feel like he'd take his money to me if dean did not do the changes. I ended up sending a email to Dean, doubtful he read it,stating I did not want his customer. I was only making suggestions because the guy asked and because he was buying something from me also. At that time I was not able to build anyone anything. I had other things going on with my kids,so I was pretty busy. Basically the guy was spending around 500 bucks at Deans "shop" so I felt the guy should at least get his moneys worth.
To help save face Dean gave the guy a few MVS carts as "freebees" after the work was completed. Basically after the guy got the MVS carts he got his moneys worth.
Dean does do something cool, and that is he mounts things like controller ports from the inside. However over time if you unplug your stuff alot and plug it back in they can get loose and fall inside the unit unless you use mini bolts, washers, ect. Im sure he prob does use them, but who knows. I like mounting them on the outside, just my preference. He also uses RGB knobs for adjustment, which I never in my life have had to use.
I typically set the encoder, jrok or whatever up via the pots onboard and it does awesome on any game from then on and never needs further adjustment.. It may be he uses them because of the AD chip on the NeoBitz,I am not sure. Those need more tweeking sometimes. He also uses Jrok encoders on certain projects so I don't know.
Before I run, incase anyone was wondering,it cost my friend around $220.00 to have his built by me,and the one I am using only cost me around $130.00.
