The music for both ActRaiser 1 and 2 were done by Yuzo Koshiro.
Same guy? Sounds altogether different, the style is completely unique between the two games. I guess those drugs really affected his style on the sequel. :D

Actraiser 1, Streets Of Rage 2, some of the Sonic music, the "4operators" track off of the FM Moudle Maniax CD and that new Castlevania game for DS is all I can stand of Mr. Koshiro.

The only Sonic music Yuzo ever did was for the first SMS version of the game.  Michiru Yamane was responsible for both DS Castlevania iterations and I have no clue what Module Mania even is.  Also, have you heard Wangan Midnight 2 or Shenmue?

1. My bad.

2. Actually, Koshiro has a couple of tracks in Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. They're remixes of older Castlevania tunes. Yamane is responsible for the new stuff.

3. FM Module Maniax is a kickass CD! They got Japan's top composers to make music on a cellphone that has an FM chip inside of it (with capabilities similar to a DX100). Yuzo Koshiro provided the last track on the CD "4operators" a track that reminds me of 70's psychedelic rock. Pretty awesome. You can get the CD at: http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/6443

4. Shenmue is boring, and I avoid ANYTHING with the word "Wang" in it. Except for Shadow Warrior.

So this Blue Dragon game is an RPG, eh? Pfft. The "gamers" the companies peddle to now haven't seen a real RPG yet.

Anything by Bethseda, or New World Computing, or anything like that. Anything that has anime styled graphics and is NOT Sudeki or Septerra Core.

Better yet, you give me some titles of RPGs YOU'VE played, and I'll tell you.

I'm pretty certain that all the rpgs I've played are of Japanese origin. I don't recall hearing of those companies you've mentioned.

most of those are pc developers.
"Fun is a strong word." - SNK
"Today, people do all kind of shit." - Tatsujin

And XBOX developers.

Lemme just run down some titles:

Baldur's Gate
Elder Scrolls (Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind,Oblivion, etc...)
Shadowrun
Septerra Core
Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic
Mass Effect
Sudeki (It's British actually, but it still counts, even though the design goal was to be as Japanese as possible)
Might & Magic series
Secret Of Evermore (although this was dictated by Square to play HIGHLY Japanese)
Dungeons & Dragons series

Basically, any RPG that cares more about the leveling than anything, has an OVERLY medieval or futuristic setting, and is just tedious and boring to play? That's an American-as-apple-pie RPG.

Fallout is the exception to this.

Shadow Warrior rocks.  I still have the game for PC and it's still hilariously awesome to play to this day. :D

By the way, kitsunexus, do you think Blue Dragon is an american RPG?

Sorry, but I don't see your library card on the books of Ys.  Now, RETURN THEM TO ME!!!

WHOOOOO WANTA SOME WANG!

And no, I know it's Japanese. I was arguing with Nödtveidt's post (I assumed by "real RPG" he meant "American").

Thank you. And I'd hate to hear how he feels about the old-skool "western" computer RPG's...
