Still it's lame no pre neogeo titles on it such as,Ikari Warriors,P.O.W,Time Soldiers,Guerrilla War or even Vanguard shesh.
Now that's a compilation I could get into. lol I haven't played Vanguard since....since....lets just say its been a while.heh. I loved that game. I haven't been able to find a working MAME ROM for Vanguard. And besides, you need special controls for that game if I remember correctly. Not sure how that would work on a keyboard, though I do have a 6 button wireless controller for my PC.
I loved playing Time Soldiers and Robocop at the local candy store ("Jack's") on the way home from school.
Steve, you always have the most 80's stories!
Don't get me started on all the great games they had at the local ice rinks here in NJ. I used to go ice skating during the winter and the summer (NJ Devil's used to practice at one of the the rinks in the summer!). There was an abandoned ice rink adjacent to the new facility.... the old rink was friggin' awesome: huge, tons of seating, totally dillapidated, depressing, home to hundreds of birds, cobwebs everywehre, broken windows, etc. etc.
Officially, the old rink was closed to everyone. Even the janitors didn't go in there. BUT, lo and behold, there were a bunch of arcade cabinets that had been gathering dust. The rink closed in the 70's, so the cabs were just being stored in there, gathering dust from the early 80's... and then forgotten about.
My brothers and I would sneak into the old rink and try to turn on the old games. Not all of them worked, but some did. We still had to pay, of course. And there were only a few electrical receptacles that worked, so, in order to switch games, we had to constantly plug and unplug them. We had to move some cabinets closer to the receptacles, since the cords didn't reach.
We were kicked out of the old rink a few times, but since we weren't doing anything bad (vandalism) or potentially dangerous, we were left to our own devices.
