Notes:
-WipEout Pulse runs at a full 333MHz (previously, the PSP locked games at a maximum of 222MHz).  This has allowed Studio Liverpool to not only enhance the graphics greatly over WipEout Pure, but also hit 60fps for the first time in a handheld game.
-A new feature in Wipeout Pulse is the new ship customization feature. Go to http://www.wipeout-game.com/html/main/Home, make an account, and from there you can use the ship customisation tool to create your own skins for any of the ships in the game.
-WipEout Pulse has online play.  Finally!

The game runs fine in 222mhz mode as well if you want to save power, just always drop the rapid fire "flash the whole screen" gun everytime you get it, the fps slowdown in 222 is pretty bad when you shoot someone with it from close range.  It does run smoother though at 333...but it is not needed to play   Yet another reason I love the PSP.

Modified to add:

Oh yeah, it's awesome too!  The tracks are a joy to kill...err race on.

Does it play anything like Wipeout 1 on the PS?  If so then I'll do my best to stay as far away from it as possible.

It plays like wipeout fusion or whatever the first PSP one is called.

Personally I thought the controls on the first wipeout game were aweful, but they were wonderful by 3 on the ps1.  These games are like wipeouts 5 and 6 or even higher numbers, not some first generation ps1 game.

I have avoided all Wipeouts simply because of that shitty first game.  I tried the PSP one on a friend's PSP a couple of years ago and I hated it.

Racing games are one of my favorite genres.

Is that a DS game?  I can't tell the difference between PSP and DS graphics.  That looks like it could be a DS game.

Well Joe if you don't like it, get the f*ck out of the thread. :P

As for me, I've been a WipEout fan since the 3DFX version of Wipeout XL. I CANNOT wait to buy this game, if money wasn't so tight right now I'd pre-order it. Hell, I'll probably pre-order it in just a couple of minutes.

WIPEOUT FOR LIFE. Cars with wheels can bite me, as can hovercrafts without guns.

I still remember those goofy ads for wipeout where the people had peed themselves.

Get yourself a copy of the EUR demo and try it out!  No money ventured, nothing to loose.

Yeah I'm just joshin', nobody could possibly mistake those screen shots for anything the DS is even remotely capable of doing.

Regardless the graphics still suck.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).
