I think future generations of gamers will have a hard time collecting for the 360, since so many will fail.
I actually never really thought about retro gamers wanting to collect for the 360. But yeah, anyone wanting to get into 360 gaming in 2022 better be willing to put money into them.
Yeah, well, the Duos didn't fail out of the box.
I think someone told me here that some Duos actually do come out of the box with the sound issue already active. Even if true, it's obviously not nearly to the extent of 360s coming out the box with the RROD. Microsoft really pisses me off. lol. They can get some things bang on, like Xbox Live, but why do they always release things with lots of bugs and function issues, i.e. Xbox 360, Windows Vista. Hell, even the original Xbox had problems with the Thomas DVD drives that were present on their first production run. My Xbox actually has a Thomas DVD drive.
It's not as bad as some, but when I put in Burnout Revenge the drive will sometimes have a hard time reading the disc and I'll get that dreaded "Disc Read Error" message. At some point I'll probably get one of the more reliable Samsung DVD drives and replace the crappy Thomas. I also have a really noisy fan that makes a god awful sound when I first power up my Xbox. Apparantly, Microsoft put these fans on the first production run, but eventually removed them. Fortunately, the sound is otherwise harmless and goes away after about 10 or 15 seconds.

Thomas is teh suck, Phillips is pretty good, and Samsung is the best.
