Haha, move over Oculus Rift! Suspension Virtual Boy is such a clever idea. Nice job with that setup!

Here's what I did in a little more detail. Bear in mind, this all cost about $5.

Above my chair is a hanging light fixture. I attached to it this doohickey, which was originally built for a headrest of a front seat of a car so that you could hang your suits or your purse or whatever.

To that doohickey, I attached two loops of elastic rope. These came with s-hooks on them, as well as a length-adjustment bit. Don't worry, the light fixture's weight tolerance is in no danger of being exceeded.

Those are shoelaces. New shoelaces, of course. You can see how the goggle side is shaped is such a way that the strings won't slide off, but the other side isn't, so I had to tie them together there. This also makes a great place to put a head strap. Additionally, the s-hooks can be moved back and forth to adjust the forward tilt of the unit.

Finally, the headstrap. This is the part I'd kind of like to replace, since it was not made for a head, but for tying books together. It's not elastic, and it doesn't grip quite as well as it could. Nonetheless, it's adjustable, and it has velcro, which is easy to deal with when you can't see anything because you've put the Virtual Boy up to your face.

Whoa yeah, baby. I could play this all day.

EDIT: Great avatar, or greatest avatar?

THIS SHOULD BE ITS OWN DAMN THREAD, because I love the suspended VB...it is both an art installation and practical solution to VBB (VirtualBoyBlues).

I love the pictures: without having them, the grand scale of things would be lost.

Real floppy
Where'd you get the floppy drive? Is it a new product (doubtful since it's not USB), and if not, does it work fine with Win7/8? I've been thinking of getting one, but I hear bad things about the USB ones.

I got it from "Recycledgoods", they said it was refurbished. It is in great shape, no rust or dirt or anything like it and works like a champ (do yourself a favor and virus scan your disks).
I use it with a Win98 PC. My understanding is Win7 dropped support for 5.25 drives.

Kryoflux makes a usb interface for these kind of drives but is read only and a bit pricy.

Yea kryoflux is only used to dump disks. and you are right about win7 not supporting writing ti 5.25"
if you have win 98 xfloppy is a good disk imager I use omniflop in win xp reads and writes most images for most formats.

htoL#NiQ and Hyperdevotion Noire Limited Editions by xelement5x, on Flickr

htoL#NiQ (Hotaru no Nikki) Limited Edition from NIS America

and

Hyperdevotion Noire Goddess Black Heart Limited Edition from Idea Factory International

Both are US Vita games.  htoL was originally digital only, and it was super affordable given that it's a new game.  Noire adds on to all the Neptunia silliness in my life since at this point I have the LEs of all the games so I feel like I NEED to keep getting them.  Doesn't hurt that Noire is a cutie though.

I picked up my copy of Firefly Diary yesterday, so now I have something to play on the PSTV I picked up a few weeks back.  It's a pretty nice little package (game, soundtrack cd, and booklet) for $30, which seems pretty cheap compared to most other games at $40 and you don't even get a manual.
