Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

i chuckle that we all love the wii more for its delivery of emulated classic and/or remakes/updates to said classics than for its own original games.  oh, the irony

Pretty funny isn't it?  But FPS just don't do it for me. I'd honestly rather play Ms. Pac Man most of the time, than put on Battlefield or whatever.

The Wii is probably my least favorite system of this generation, and this doesn't do anything to help that.  It's just regular Gradius.  The only Gradius I liked was Gradius 5.  The others had some good music here and there but were just too damn slow.  There was a Parodius game or two that I liked.

I did forget to mention multiplayer action on FPS games - that adds a whole new element.

have you had the chance to rock gradius gaiden?  it's still my favorite of the series, even after rocking the mess out of g5 (which i adore, mind you.  'tis my second fav behind gaiden).

gaiden has the most excellent level design (and stage design) in the series, in my mind.

Yeah Gaiden wasn't bad, I liked the music.  But still... it was Gradius.  I can't remember if it set you back when you die or not.  I hate that.  I always turn games like that off the very first time I die.  I love R-Type to death but the game gets put away after I die once.

My Gradius V review.
