ok,

ok first off - game box purests, please turn your heads. I am going to start a project where I make a very nice gamebox to display all my cart games. I (like many) did not have the luxury of buying most my SNES and Genesis stuff brand new. I do not have boxes for about 90% of the stuff I own. For me these are mainly games to play, but I want to display on a shelf like this:

Now I am ordering 100 boxes that fit SNES, Genesis, N64 and NES (with a little modding) and looking for someone who is interested in my proposition.

 I am ordering these:

http://www.mediashelving.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=W&Product_Code=USCG&Category_Code=VHS

I got a quote and after shipping:

Quote
$42.00 + $12.73 FedEx Ground Shipping + $3.04 CA Tax = $57.77 (FOB Simi Valley CA)

My offer is send 1/2 of the shipped cost plus actual shipping to send these to your doorstop (50 of these boxes). If you want 100 boxes, then it would make sense to place an order yourself, but only needing about 50 made me opt for this offer if you don't need that much or shell out extra $$$ for more than you need. There is some great websites on reproing SNES, N64, Genesis carts and it looks fantastic. This gamebox allows you to insert game art on the outside satisfying the need to have a neat game collection, and also protecting your games. I WOULD NOT cut up original boxes to do this, but use free gamebox art already scanned and ready to print and insert that are scans of original boxes.

I am also making cases for GBA games, which you use the DS cases. Here is a helpful thread:

and artwork can be found here:

Anyone wanna go in on this with me?  :D Please don't complain about paying 1/2 the shipping, u can let someone else take up the offer. I am ordering now so I am looking for someone ready to go in on now.

I tried buying some of these but they would only accept orders from the USA and Canada.

I'm telling you, flog them on ebay UK and you'll make a mint ;)

Failing that I'll take the fifty off you and do it myself

They charge a LOT for shipping to Canada, as well.

Those are slick. I'd love to see pics of NES/SNES carts in those to see how well they fit.

they arrived, and some pics:

You can also see the DVD cases I made for the Sega CD games, I absolutely hate the large Sega CD / Saturn boxes. You can also see how it fits NES games, although it does require some modification which.

The Sega CD cases look great for sure.  But unfortunately they aren't able to hold the instructions.  As for the other cases, I don't care much for clear plastic.  Great inserts, though!

Thanks Joe, I didn't try yet but figured they wouldn't be able to hold the instruction booklets. My plan is to store the oversized boxes, and find a way to neatly store the manuals so they are accessible but protected.

Yeah some will not like the clear boxes, but for me it is nice because I have the artwork, and a way to store the games.

Those look nice!

How much work was it to fit NES carts in those? Did you just have to knock out a couple of tabs?

I'm thinking of doing this for my SNES games. Sadly, I didn't realize when I was young how awesome packaging really is. Sometimes I think of all the boxes I threw away...  #-o

Apparently none of us did, or we wouldn't be in this dilemma now, would we?   #-o

Thanks! I really like the idea, but there's a couple things holding me back at the moment:
- I'd need a lot of them (well over 100) for my NES and SNES carts.
- Not sure if I have the shelf space, since these are significantly thicker than the loose carts.
- The only printer I have access to is a B/W laser, so I'd probably have to find someone willing to print the covers and send 'em to me.
