I would have to pretty much agree with all of ya, even though I dont have a 360, I went and bought it cause I was aware of this game coming stateside. Now I dont know much about the games on here though see please tell me, are these remixes of Raiden I and II or completely different  and original shooters or what. And is it from the same Raiden series or just has the same name by coincidence. From watching the videos on amazon it looked almost like maybe an americanized port of early Dodonpachi games but I just couldnt tell since I cant actually play it yet

confirmed?  i have the option to snatch up either the japanese version or the north american version.  i'd prefer to get the na version so that all the menu/options text is legible, but if it doesn't retain vertical display support then i'd rather go with the japanese version (i'm sure i can deal with the untranslated menus).

Its North American publisher's website states that it supports "full-screen vertical scrolling on a rotated display".

perfect, thanks!

no, the raiden fighters games aren't remixes of the "regular" raiden games.  they have their own unique game play systems and mechanics.  the fighters games have much richer game play overall than the regular raiden games.  multiple ships to choose from, each offering opportunity for differing play style; a different method of level progression; a more meaningful weapon change (i.e. "powerup") system; and more.

that being said, there are still enough similar systems and mechanics to the regular raiden games that they are warranted being part of the raiden series (so their names are not just coincidental).

Well, I have to brag a bit. As of last night, if any of you care to check the XBLA leaderboards for Raiden Fighters, you may notice that there is a 'Lord Thag' ranked at .... drum roll please .... #2.

Yeah. I'm second in the world currently. How about that huh? I about fell outta my chair. I'm positive I can get first with some practice.

I loooooove this game!
