PS1 was awesome as well, definitely the best 8-bit JRPG IMO.

You say this on a PC Engine forum!? :)

I dunno about it being the best.

You've got a plethora of JRPGs sitting on the MSX, an 8 bit machine.

including Dragon Slayer 6: Legend of Heroes

:)
[Fri 19:34]<nectarsis> been wanting to try that one for awhile now Ope

I beat this game back in the day.  When first playing it, I thought the music was annoying.  It was interested how throughout the game they added an additional layer to the music.  By the end of the game, the music sounded awesome.  The battle music was a little annoying as well.  But overall I thought it was a great game, and it's got replay value which is rare on an RPG.  I really did like the generations idea.  I should get back into it again sometime.

I would have to say that III is the second best PS game for the Genesis.  I think II was good, but just too damn repetitive, and all the levels looked the same.  I feel that IV was the best, I still need to finish that game.  Just so much more attention to detail in the game, and the vehicles are pretty cool also.
